Abstract:
A releasable adhesive mounting element that includes a segment of material having a determined shape defined by one or more edges and having a first side and a second side. At least one marginal offset area is defined on the second side of the segment of material, which is offset a determined width from the one or more edges of the segment of material. A first adhesive area is defined on the second side of the segment of material, which has edges that extend to the at least one marginal offset area. A first releasable adhesive is disposed within the first adhesive area. The first releasable adhesive is configured for simultaneously, releasably adhering the segment of material to a portion of a work and a portion of a mounting surface. A second adhesive area may be defined at least partially within at least a portion of the first adhesive area.
Abstract:
A substrate, such as, for example, a flap member of a pinch-bottom product bag, and a method of making the same, comprises a hot melt adhesive disposed upon the substrate so as to comprise first horizontally spaced upstanding portions whereby adhesive blocking is effectively eliminated or significantly reduced. A fiberized hot melt adhesive overcoat/overspray may also be disposed atop the hot melt adhesive to further assure the elimination or reduction in the adhesive blocking. The fiberized hot melt adhesive may also be used in conjunction with a conventionally applied hot melt adhesive base or foundation upon the substrate or deposited directly onto the substrate.
Abstract:
Provided are a pressure-sensitive adhesive having excellent durability and reliability under high-temperature or high-humidity conditions, adhesion strength, workability, re-movability, and the ability to inhibit light leakage; a method for preparing the pressure-sensitive adhesive; a polarizer including the pressure-sensitive adhesive; and a liquid crystal display incorporating the polarizer.
Abstract:
Provided is an adhesive layer-equipped transparent surface material that can easily be bonded to another surface material (a display panel, etc.) and that, when bonded to another surface material, is less likely to have voids left at the interface between the adhesive layer and another surface material. An adhesive layer-equipped transparent surface material 1 comprises an adhesive layer 14 formed on at least one surface of a protective plate 10 (a transparent surface material), wherein the adhesive layer 14 has a layer portion 18 spreading over the surface of the protective plate 10 and a barrier portion 20 surrounding the periphery of the layer portion 18; and the layer portion 18 has a shear modulus at 35° C. of from 0.5 to 100 kPa.
Abstract:
A process, apparatus, and system for joining at least two workpieces together using at least two adhesives each having substantially different cure times. A first adhesive having a first cure time is used to form a first bond between the two workpieces, the first adhesive having a first cure time. A second adhesive having a second cure time, the second cure time being substantially shorter than the first cure time is used to form a fixturing bond. The fixturing bond maintaining the first and second workpieces in position prior to the first adhesive curing.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device. The polarizing plate, which is lightweight and has a small thickness and excellent physical properties including durability, water resistance, workability, pressure-sensitive adhesion and a light leakage prevention effect; and the liquid crystal display device including the same may be provided.
Abstract:
The installation system and method for installing an architectural covering material to a substrate surface utilizes an adhesive mat having layers of adhesive and release layers arranged to allow the covering material to be initially positioned, and later repositioned to be permanently set. The adhesive mat includes a planar carrier member, one or more adhesive layers on at least one planar side of the planar carrier member, and at least one release layer of material removably covering the one or more adhesive layers. In one form, the adhesive mat includes a carrier sheet, first and second adhesive layers on opposing planar sides of the carrier sheet, and first and second release layers of material removably covering the two adhesive layers.

Abstract:
An application for an arced sealing tape has a bottom interfaced to an inner wall. The surface of the inner wall that is closest to a center point of the arc has an adhesive and the bottom surface of the bottom also has an adhesive.
Abstract:
An appliqué having anti-corrosive adhesive is provided by embodiments of the present invention. This appliqué includes a thin polymer film and a pressure sensitive adhesive. The pressure sensitive adhesive backs the thin polymer film and includes corrosion-inhibiting additives. These corrosion-inhibiting additives reduce or eliminate the need for a chromated primer layer beneath the appliqué. Elimination of a chromated primer layer has environmental advantages as well as cost benefits through the elimination of a processing step. Additionally, environmental benefits are realized by eliminating the toxic effects often associated with the use of chromated primers.
