Abstract:
A novel class of ionic liquids and methods for their preparation are disclosed. Specifically, these novel ionic liquids can be derived from surfactants, such as betaines, amine oxides. The present invention also relates to compositions containing these novel ionic liquids and method of using the same.
Abstract:
A novel class of ionic liquids and methods for their preparation are disclosed. Specifically, these novel ionic liquids can be derived from anionic surfactants, such as alkyl aryl sulfonates, and mid-chain branched derivatives of alkyl sulfates, alkyl alkoxy sulfates, and alkyl aryl sulfonates. In addition, novel ionic liquids can be derived from other anionic surfactants, such as methyl ester sulfonates (MES), alkyl glycerol ether sulfonates, and alpha olefin sulfonates. Anions may be paired with a variety of cations to achieve various advantageous properties. The present invention also relates to compositions containing these novel ionic liquids and method of using the same.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to blooming type cleaning compositions comprising natural oil. More particularly, the present invention relates environmentally acceptable, blooming natural oil cleaning compositions which achieve product stability and clarity with essentially one natural oil, such as orange oil, without the addition of a blooming agent such as pine oil, amine oxides, amphoteric surfactants or phenolic solvents.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multiphase aqueous cleansing composition for cleansing human skin and hair, which when agitated forms a single application phase, and when left standing, the composition rapidly returns to an appearance having at least two visibly distinct aqueous phases. The multiphase aqueous cleansing composition of the present invention provides an esthetically interesting and useful cleansing composition for use as a body wash, shower gel, foam bath or shampoo. The aqueous multiphase cleansing composition comprises: a surfactant comprising a surfactant or salt thereof; one or more co-surfactants; a humectant; and a salt, wherein the cleansing composition is essentially free of a thickener or a detergent builder.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a granular laundry detergent composition comprising: (i) from 5 wt % to 55 wt % anionic detersive surfactant; and (ii) from 0.5 wt % to 10 wt % non-ionic detersive surfactant; and (iii) from 0.5 wt % to 5 wt % cationic detersive surfactant; and (iv) from 0 wt % to 4 wt % zeolite builder; and (v) from 0 wt % to 4 wt % phosphate builder.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a clear liquid detergent composition suitable for use in dishwashing and multipurpose cleaners for household applications as well as for industrial and institutional uses. The clear liquid detergent comprises a) 1 to 40 percent an anionic surfactant or group of anionic surfactants, b) 0.01 to 10 percent cationic surfactants, and c) optionally, 0.05 to 15 percent amphoteric and/or nonionic surfactants. More particularly, the light duty detergents of the present invention cationic compounds of the formula: wherein R1 is C8-C22-alkyl, C8-C22-alkenyl, C8-C22-alkyl/alkenylamidopropyl, C8-C22 alkoxyalkenylethyl, C8-C22-alkyl/alkenyi(poly)alkoxyalkyl, C8-C22-alkanoylethyl or C8-C22-alkenoylethyl, R2 is C1-C22-alkyl, Cl—C22-alkenyl or a group of the formula —A—(OA)n—OH, R3 and R4 are C1-C22-alkyl, C2-C21-alkenyl or a group of the formula —A—(OA)n—OH, A is —C2H4— and/or —C3H6— and n is a number from 0 to 20 and X is an anion.
Abstract:
An improvement is described in all purpose liquid cleaning compositions which are especially effective in the removal of oily and greasy soil and contains an anionic detergent, and/or ethoxylated nonionic surfactants, an anionic polyacrylamide copolymer, olefin/maleic acid copolymer, a hydrocarbon ingredient, and water.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a cleaning article as an article of manufacture which includes a substrate onto which a cleaning composition is partially impregnated, leaving a portion of the substrate not impregnated with the composition. The impregnated part or side of the substrate is used to clean surfaces, especially vitro-ceramic surfaces while the unimpregnated part or side of the substrate is then used to dry and buff the cleaned surface.
Abstract:
Disclosed are products that may not only kill harmful microorganisms, but may also protect the skin from harmful and irritating substances. The invention provides for formulations of antimicrobial hand soap; antibacterial topical skin barrier lotion for use on skin, over or under gloves, that moisturizes and seals out undesirable contaminants and irritants; antibacterial surface cleaner; and a validation and monitoring kit. Also included is a method for determining if employees are protected and following the protocol of application of the formulations. The products are used in combination as a system for managing microbial pathogens and irritants. The invention further provides for numerous other formulations, including, anti-itch lotion, sunscreen, spermicides, lip balm, anti-oxidant lotion, anti-aging/anti-wrinkling lotions and an insect repellent.
Abstract:
Compositions which, as well as water, contain certain sulfonate salts or polyhydric alcohols together with ethoxylated/propoxylated alcohols and ethoxylated alcohols are useful for pretreating textile sheet materials. Further ingredients also render them useful for hydrogen peroxide bleaching. The compositions, which provide the textiles with good primary wettability and good rewettability, are low-foaming. Batchwise pretreatment processes, for example in jet machines, therefore represent no problem.
