摘要: A supervisory system and method automatically tracks and reports the status, e.g., current address, employer, telephone number, etc., of a group of enrollees, and automatically collects a fee for such service. Each enrollee "reports in" to a host CPU of the system in accordance with a specific contact schedule, e.g., once a month, through a fee-based telephone network that automatically charges a prescribed toll fee to the originating telephone number whenever telephone contact remains established for more than a preamble time period. The host CPU, using individual calling line identification (ICLID) information included in the incoming telephone call, identifies the telephone number of the incoming call and determines if it belongs to an enrollee of the system. If not, the incoming call is disconnected before the preamble time period expires, thereby preventing the incoming caller from being charged the toll fee. Further, if a given enrollee attempts to report in more than once during the same reporting period, the incoming call is disconnected before the preamble time period expires, thereby preventing the incoming caller from being charged the toll fee more than once for a given reporting period. When valid telephone contact is established, the identify of the caller is verified to make sure it is an enrollee, and the verified enrollee then updates the status information, if needed. Reports are generated to selectively indicate which enrollees have or have not reported during the prescribed reporting period, and any change in their status.

摘要: A method and system for monitoring personnel in an institution such as a correctional facility, hospital, school, military installation, and the like, includes a computer connected with one or more stationary transceivers in a defined area of the facility, and a portable transceiver unit worn by each individual who is to be monitored. The computer sends command signals to the stationary transceivers, which broadcast interrogation signals to the portable units. The portable units are configured to respond only to interrogation signals unique to that individual, and upon decoding an interrogation signal incident thereon, broadcast a response signal to the stationary transceivers. The stationary transceivers relay corresponding data to the computer, where the data is analyzed to provide an indication of the number, location and identity of the individuals. The portable transceiver units have an emergency alarm button which may be actuated by the individual in the event of an emergency, and selected portable transceiver units may also be configured to be sensitive to proximity between them. In addition, the portable units may be coded for access to vending apparatus.

摘要: A sensor for monitoring the status of an alarm system is disclosed. The sensor includes a base station at the location of the alarm system and arranged to respond to an alarm condition. When an alarm occurs, the base station latches the alarm condition and retains it until it is manually reset. A remote station includes a transceiver for interrogating the base station to determine whether an alarm condition has occurred. The remote unit may also be used to arm or disarm the alarm system, and to operate other controllable devices.

摘要: This invention relates to a signal processing unit typically in the form of a status and control unit forming part of a supervisory control system. The unit monitors status inputs and transmits messages to a central station indicating the status of these inputs and also has control outputs which may be activated on a command from a central station to provide a control function. In response to a predetermined stimulus such as a change of state at a status input the unit generates a new message for a neighboring status and control unit by incrementing or decrementing its own address to obtain a new address for transmission. In this way messages may be transmitted between units as well as between the central station and the units thereby allowing communication to units which lie outside the range of the central station itself. The invention has particular application in supervisory control systems.

摘要: A security installation at one Site has remote sensors which detect intrusion, fire, etc. and transmit corresponding signals by radio to a master station. Similar installations are provided at other Sites. The sensors of each Site precede their data signals with an access code which is particular to that Site and prevents their signals being received by the master station of any adjacent Site within radio range. When a new installation is to be installed at a new, adjacent Site, an arbitrary value is initially selected for its access code and the master station there transmits a special code to all adjacent Sites. In response to this special code, the master station in each such adjacent Site transmits its own access code back to the new installation, where it is compared in value with the arbitrarily selected access code. The latter is automatically changed until it becomes different from that of any and all adjacent Sites. The remote sensors of the new installation are then set to this value.

摘要: A computer controlled radio activated security and safety system suitable for interrogating a plurality of locations sequentially and for obtaining replies to indicate the condition of the locations and which is completely independent of any external connection between an interrogator location and an interrogatee location for interrogating a plurality of locations sequentially and obtaining replies to indicate the condition of the locations. The system comprises a computer center, at least one main transmitting and receiving station and at least one remote alarm unit which is adapted to monitor a predetermined parameter. The remote alarm unit is also provided with at least one receiver and transmitter, and the computer is adapted to interrogate the alarm unit with a predetermined digital signal and to monitor its reply, the reply being modified by any variation in the parameter.

摘要: An emergency system can access a variety of situational data items, such as video streams, facility information, and present and past incident data. The emergency system identifies data items that may be relevant to a particular incident and provides the relevant data items in one or more user interfaces. For example, the emergency system identifies relevant data items based on the reported location of the incident and the type of incident. As additional incident information is received or entered by telecommunicators, the emergency system can further filter and surface data items likely to be useful in responding to the incident. Certain data items may only be permitted to be viewed by certain types of users, or under certain conditions. The emergency system may ensure that data items are provided to authorized users and in permitted use cases.
