    摘要: A power transmission is provided. The power transmission includes a housing including a continuous channel following a three-dimensional path. A plurality of beads is located within the continuous channel and movable therein. A first sprocket is rotateably connected to the housing and forms a first portion of the continuous channel in movable contact with the plurality of beads. A second sprocket is rotateably connected to the housing and forms a second portion of the continuous channel in movable contact with the plurality of beads, the second sprocket having an axis of rotation angled with respect to an axis of rotation of the first sprocket. A milling tool and a method of removing material from a work piece are also provided.

    摘要: Apparatus for electrically controlling the application and release of aircraft brakes. In one embodiment, the invention includes a slurry clutch controlling a reciprocating member which is operatively connected to the pressure plate. In another embodiment of the invention, a torque motor is adapted to have an armature which comprises a ball screw, the ball screw being in engagement with a longitudinal drive ring communicating with the pressure plate. Rotation of the armature causes the drive ring to move the pressure plate into forceful engagement with the brake disk stack or to retract the same. In yet another embodiment of the invention, a plurality of torque motors are interconnected with a bull gear which is operative for driving the pressure plate. Each of the embodiments of the invention includes apparatus for maintaining a fixed built-in clearance in the brake disk stack of the brake assembly, and are further adapted for utilization with antiskid systems by utilizing a device communicating with the pressure plate which allows rapid release of brake torque. Additionally, apparatus is provided which allows a locking of the brake assembly while the aircraft is parked.

    摘要: In a ball nut type steering gear for a motor vehicle having two trains of balls confined within passageways formed by the helical grooves in a threaded shaft and a ball nut which surrounds the threaded shaft, two major diameter portions disposed in spaced-apart relation are formed in the threaded shaft. When the motor vehicle travels straight ahead, the balls are rollingly engaged in the helical grooves in the major diameter portions of the threaded shaft and the ball nut, and there is no play between the grooves and the balls which are engaged in the grooves. However, when the steering wheel is manipulated, the balls are rollingly engaged in the helical grooves in portions of the threaded shaft which are smaller in diameter than the major diameter portions of the threaded shaft, and there is play of a certain extent between the balls and the helical grooves.
