摘要： A mist collector for separating liquid components from a mist-laden gas stream to include a housing which houses three filter or separation stages. The stream is pumped through ducts into the bottom of the housing, and is pulled upwardly through the filter stages. The third filter stage comprises a commercially available filter assembly with a plurality of filter envelopes having bottom open ends secured across a midposition of the housing and upper closed ends supported adjacent the top of the housing. A doorway provides access to the inside of the housing. The upper closed ends of the envelopes are supported by hanger rods which connect to horizontally movable slides which slide within horizontal channels mounted to the internal side walls of the housing. The slides extend partially out through the doorway to enable the assembly to be connected to and disconnected from the collector outside of the housing.

摘要： Screening apparatus for separately removing knots and heavy reject particles from paper making stock comprises a generally cylindrical vertical housing having the interior thereof separated by a cylindrical perforated screening member into an annular screening chamber and an accepts space on the outer and inner sides of the screening cylinder respectively. Separate outlets for light and heavy reject particles are located at the top and bottom of the screening chamber, the supply flow of feed stock enters the screening chamber at the bottom thereof, and special provision is made to insure that maximum separation of the knots and other lighter reject particles from the heavy reject materials will be effected within the screening chamber with minimum contact with the screening cylinder itself.

摘要： An apparatus for dewatering a pulp is described, comprising a vessel having a pulp chamber for pulp to be dewatered; a pulp inlet to the vessle; pulp outlet from the vessel; a filtrate chamber with an outlet for filtrate expelled from the pulp; a stationary cylindrical screen mounted within the vessel and defining said plup chamber and filtrate chamber on opposite sides thereof; and mechanical cleaning means supported by a shaft and disposed in the pulp chamber close to the screen face of the screen for removing a mat of pulp therefrom. The apparatus further comprises a backflushing means mounted outside the vessel and including a cylinder with first and second end portions and a piston mounted within the cylinder for reciprocal movement therein. The first end portion communicates with the interior of the apparatus, and the second end portion communicates with the filtrate chamber. Furthermore, the backflushing means comprises a power transmitting means for actuating the piston in the cylinder to move reciprocally in cycles each cycle comprising a slow stroke for drawing filtrate slowly into the cylinder and removing pulp slowly therefrom, and a fast stroke for expelling said drawn-in filtrate quickly out from the cylinder and drawing pulp quickly into the cylinder, said quickly expelled filtrate causing a backlfush through the screen.

摘要： Fiber suspension, such as paper pulp flowing to the headbox of a paper machine, is acted upon by apparatus which affects the axial direction and magnitude of the speed of the fiber suspension during screening to optimize results. A rotor cooperates with a screen cylinder, the rotor having a plurality of projections arranged along its axial length. The axial length of the rotor preferably has different axially extending circumferential zones. The projections have non-axial surfaces which act on the suspension to change the axial forces. Different shapes of projections are preferably provided in the different zones so that the axial forces vary in dependence upon the distance from the inlet to the screen casing, and the discharge outlet from the screen casing.

摘要： The disclosure concerns an apparatus for separating impurities from a fibrous suspension. The apparatus includes a tiltable housing having a screen basket supported coaxially therein. A rotor is supported inside the screen basket. The rotor has three zones. There is an upstream zone communicating with the fiber suspension inlet, and inlet in the upstream zone is into the interior of the rotor and then outward past sorting vanes formed at the exterior of the rotor in the first zone and inside of the basket. Downstream of the transport vanes is a second baffle zone defined by a closed drum having transport vanes on the outside thereof. The suspension and impurities are moved downstream by the transport vanes in the second zone. Downstream of the second zone is a third zone with further means for moving impurities downstream, comprising either a centrifugal impeller in the form of vanes or a helical ring. The impurities outlet from the housing is downstream of the rotor and at the other end of the housing away from the inlet. The outlet for purified suspension is outside the screen basket nearer the inlet. A weir establishes a level of suspension in the housing.

摘要： An apparatus for screening fibrous stock. A rotor is rotatably mounted within an open ended, cylindrical screen which is mounted in a hollow housing. Fibrous stock is introduced into the housing and rotation of the rotor causes the portion of the fibrous stock that will pass through the screen to do so. Any fibrous stock that passes through the screen is discharged from the housing. The rotor includes a cylindrical body member having a plurality of blade members attached thereto and spaced substantially evenly about the circumference of the body member and radiating outwardly therefrom. Each blade member has a leading edge and a trailing edge with the leading edge spaced farther from the body member than the trailing edge.
