Abstract:
The disclosure depicts an adjustable square device with a body having a substantially uniform cross-section at planes orthogonal to a longitudinal axis, the cross-section having a generally rectangular outline. A first groove extends inwardly from a first end of the body and oriented generally parallel a bottom surface of the body. A second groove extends inwardly from the first end and is orthogonal the first groove, the first and second grooves intersecting at a vertex. The device also has a tunnel extending from the vertex to a second end of the body, and a blade slidably engagable into one of the first or second grooves.
Abstract:
A trigger assembly for parts checking jigs and the like has a pivoting trigger arm with a central bearing aperture. A universal base is supported on the jig, and has two pairs of pivot pin apertures located adjacent opposite ends, a U-shaped central channel in the bottom face in which the trigger arm is received, and two laterally spaced gauge bushing apertures in the upper face. A pivot pin extends through the bearing aperture in the trigger arm and one pair of the pivot pin apertures in the base. A spring is mounted in the base and biases the trigger arm to an extended position. A gauge bushing is received in one of the two bushing apertures, such that the trigger arm assembly can be readily reconfigured for placement at various locations on the jig by selective mounting of the trigger arm and the gauge bushing in selected ones of the associated base apertures.
Abstract:
When an insulation resistance value of an ignition plug is smaller than a prescribed value, an engine operation state is switched so as to raise a temperature of the ignition plug, thereby promoting deposit cleaning. Such a measures-against-deposit carrying-out state is counted. When a count value exceeds a certain value, that is, when the measures against deposit have sufficiently been performed but the insulation resistance value of the ignition plug is smaller than the prescribed value, it is determined that conductive deposit has adhered to the ignition plug, and for example, an alarm light is turned on in order to urge a driver to perform maintenance of the ignition plug.
Abstract:
Methods and computer storage media provide for the installation of potted inserts and installation validation. According to embodiments described herein, an insert is placed within an insert aperture of a panel or other structure. Potting compound is injected into a potting cavity surrounding the insert through a fill hole in the insert until potting compound overflows from another fill hole. The installation is validated by applying a force to the installed insert at a determined frequency using a mechanical impedance instrument and measuring a response frequency. The response frequency is compared to an acceptable frequency range to determine whether the insert is properly installed.
Abstract:
A method of calibrating an electrically controlled hydraulic valve having a known relationship between flow rate through the valve and displacement of a valve element is disclosed. The method includes ascertaining a first current level for actuating the electrically controlled hydraulic valve to move the valve element to a position adjacent an inlet port, and a first displacement of the valve element responsive to the first current level. The method also includes ascertaining a second current level for actuating the electrically controlled hydraulic valve to move the valve element from the position adjacent the inlet port to a position permitting flow through the inlet port, and ascertaining a second displacement of the valve element responsive to the second current level. The method further includes establishing a relationship between current and displacement associated with the electrically controlled hydraulic valve.
Abstract:
The present invention is related to an apparatus and a method for the measurement of the vertical position of upper and lower punches, pairwisely associated to a rotatably driven rotor of a rotary tablet press and rotating synchronously with the rotor, which perform a vertical movement in certain regions along the circumference of their rotational movement during a rotation of the rotor. The apparatus features at least one scale arranged on at least one of the upper and/or lower punches, running in parallel to the vertical movement direction of the respective upper and/or lower punch, and at least one reading device associated to the scale, also rotating synchronously with the rotor, by means of which a vertical position of the respective upper and/or lower punch can be measured by reading out the scale. The inventions is furthermore related to a corresponding rotary tablet press and a corresponding method.
Abstract:
An alignment apparatus (10) comprises a plurality of first members (12) and a plurality of second members (14). First and second co-operating formations (16, 22) are provided on the first and second members. The co-operating formations can co-operate with one another to secure the first members to the second members. The first members include spaced alignment formations arranged to align the placement of articles on the surface. The first co-operating formations may constitute the alignment formations.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the simple and low-cost production of an electronic measuring tape (10) comprising an external housing (12) provided with a tape exit opening (14), a tape winding-up device (20), a tape (30) which is wound up in the tape winding-up device (20) and is withdrawable from the external housing (12) through the tape exit opening (14), wherein said tape is provided with first and second surfaces. A radiation source (50) is arranged between the tape exit opening (14) and the tape winding-up device (20) for sending a beam to the first surface of the tape (30). A detecting device (60) is placed at the side of the second surface of the tape (30) for receiving the beam and transmitting data representing the received radiation to an evaluation device (70) for determining, from these data, the length of the tape (30) extracted through the tape exit opening (14). According to said invention, the tape (30) is radiation-permeable and provided with a biunique code (40) on one of the two surfaces thereof. Said code represents the length of the tape (30) extracted through the tape exit opening (14) and consists of elements influencing the radiation-transmitting capacity of the tape (30).Said invention also relates to an electronic length-measuring device provided with display and evaluation means for determining a length according to received data and for generating visual data according to said length on the display means, wherein said measuring tape (10) is connected to the evaluation unit.
