摘要: A printing apparatus for printing on a transfer medium using an ink medium with a thermoplastic magnetic ink. A thermal head selectively heats and melts the magnetic ink. A magnetic head urges the melted magnetic ink from the ink medium to the transfer medium. Both the thermal head and the magnetic head are positioned on the same side of the transfer medium. The distance between the magnetic head and the platen can be adjusted depending upon the thickness of the transfer medium to maintain a constant speed of ink transfer from the ink medium to the transfer medium. Methods of printing by ejecting the ink from the ink medium onto the transfer paper and for adjusting the distance between the magnetic head and platen to adapt to varying thicknesses of transfer medium are presented.

摘要: A thermal transfer printer of this invention is provided with recording paper carrier rollers disposed on both the upstream side and the downstream side of the thermal transfer head along the paper carrying direction and, further, with a sensor for detecting as to whether or not the recording paper is present on the downstream side lower than the carrier roller disposed on the downstream side along the paper carrying direction. In setting the recording paper for the first time, initial position setting of the recording paper depends on detection of the arrival of the foremost end of the paper at the carrier roller on the downstream side and, when the sensor detects the absence of the paper in the backward carrying thereof after completing the printing with one color, control for stopping backward carrying is performed. Accordingly, in the printer of this invention, because of tight contact between the recording paper and the platen, a relative position of the thermal transfer head to the recording paper is constantly definite and a possibility that the recording paper slips off the carrier roller due to excessive rewinding is avoided.

摘要: In a thermal printer with a thermal head having a plurality of heating elements arranged in line in a direction of main scanning, each of the heating elements having a plurality of heating sections arranged in a sub scanning direction with a predetermined pitch between two consecutive heating sections, it is detected first whether high density mode or low density mode is instructed and all of the heating elements of the thermal head are energized when the high density mode has been instructed, or every other heating element is energized when the low density mode has been instructed; then the thermal head being shifted relative to print paper in the sub scanning direction by a distance substantially equal to the pitch; then all of the heating elements being energized when the high density mode has been instructed, or every other heating element, which have not been energized in a previous energizing cycle, being energized when the low density mode has been instructed.

摘要: According to the recording apparatus of the present invention, recording papers are wound by the winding member while the end portions of the recording papers are tightly held. The recording papers can therefore be correctly reciprocated. Furthermore, before recording is effected by the recording head, the recording papers are one wound back by the winding member to an initial position, thereby removing strains or deflections of the recording papers. Also, in the case of a color printer of thermal transcription, images in each of the four colors can be accurately overlapped without disagreement.

摘要: A thermal transfer printer wherein a ribbon cassette adapted to receive therein an ink ribbon which is guided outside from a ribbon take-out portion in a manner such that the ribbon is drawn out of a ribbon pull-in portion is placed on a carriage, and a head mounting member supporting the thermal head is disposed within a recess formed on the platen side of the carriage so that the mounting member may be moved to and from the platen, characterized by the provision of a moving mechanism in which the width of the recess in the carriage moving direction is formed to be larger than that of the head mounting member in the same direction as the former so that the carriage and the head mounting member may be relatively moved in the carriage moving direction, and the head mounting member and the carriage may be relatively moved so that when the head mounting member is projected from the recess of the carriage toward the platen, the head mounting member is moved close to the ribbon pull-in portion of the ribbon cassette within the recess.

摘要: The present invention provides a recording medium employing conductive polymers and a recording method employing the recording medium. The recording medium of the present invention is comprised of a substrate and a conductive polymer layer including a dopant therein and layered on the substrate. 摘要: In the prior art thermal recording systems heat resistor elements incorporated in a thermal head are controlled in the unit of dots, and a large volume of electric current is needed specially when the electric current is simultaneously applied on a large number of heat resistor elements in one line. This necessitates an expensive power source device for the system. The present invention method can reduce electric current to be fed to the thermal head as it drives several blocks of the thermal head at one time to thereby achieve recording of one line of data at a higher speed because this method comprises the steps of dividing a plurality of heat resistor elements of the thermal head into several blocks, counting the number of recording heat resistor elements in each of the blocks, summing the number of the recording heat resistor elements in plural blocks sequentially from the first block, and applying electric current on plural blocks at the same time in a manner that the summed number is not more than a predetermined value.
