Abstract: A sample traveling stage is used for inspection equipment or precision processing equipment for semiconductors or FPDs, (Flat Panel Displays). The sample traveling stage includes a moving part in which a first slide, which is mounted on a base frame and moves along a first guide block, and a second slide, which is mounted on the first slide and moves along a second guide block, is installed in a mutually crossing direction. A traveling part that travels sample through the sample table is installed by a flexure mechanism module formed on the second slide and measures displacement through the X, Y bar mirror installed at the above sample table in a mutually vertical direction. A measuring part includes a laser head, a beam divider, and an interferometer installed at the operating path of the moving part forms the output into a displacement signal by receiving the input beam interference signal reflected by the X, Y bar mirror from receiver. The deformation error of the mirror and sample, including the sample table, decreases because deformation by the slide is not delivered to the sample table, and measuring accuracy improves because the relative distance of the mirror and the sample is set. Productivity improves due to the minimization of defective proportions because the accuracy is improved.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are Xylitol dehydrogenase-inactivated and arabinose reductase-inhibited mutant of Candida tropicalis, a method of producing a high yield of xylitol using the same, and xylitol produced by the method. More specifically, disclosed are a method for producing a high yield of xylitol, in which a high concentration of xylose contained in a biomass hydrolyzate is converted to xylitol using xylitol dehydrogenase-inactivated mutant of Candida tropicalis, without controlling dissolved oxygen to a low level, as well as xylitol produced according to the method. Also disclosed are a xylitol production method, in which the production of byproduct arabitol, which is produced when using a biomass as a substrate and adversely affects the yield of xylitol, is significantly reduced through the use of Candida tropicalis mutant ara-89 (KCTC 11136bp) having an inhibited activity of arabinose reductase converting arabinose to arabitol, thus increasing xylitol productivity, as well as xylitol produced by the method.

Abstract: An apparatus for use in a relay wireless communication system is capable of bidirectional relaying with precoding. A Base Station (BS) includes a plurality of antennas. The BS can receive a relay signal that includes a transmit symbol vector of the BS and a transmit symbol vector of a Mobile Station (MS) from a Relay Station. The BS determines power difference values corresponding to all of symbol vectors available as the transmit symbol vector of the MS. The BS further determines the transmit symbol vector of the MS or per bit Log Likelihood Ratios using the power difference values.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a prism for inducing Brewster's angle transmission and a fluorescence detection apparatus for enhancing a signal-to-noise ratio using thereof, and more specifically, to a prism for inducing Brewster's angle transmission and a fluorescence detection apparatus for enhancing a signal-to-noise ratio using thereof, in which evanescent waves are generated when light is cast onto fluorescence material applied on a sample surface at an angle greater than a critical angle, and the evanescent waves are used as excitation light of fluorescence to induce total internal reflection of the light so that the light may pass through the prism at a Brewster's angle. Therefore, effects of the re-reflected light on the sample surface are removed, and a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is improved at the same time. In addition, the prism is miniaturized, and therefore, usage of the sample area and efficiency of the light amount are improved.

Abstract: A new photogate pixel structure for high performance CMOS Image Sensors is proposed. A new photogate structure is incorporated into the photodiode active-pixel structure. The proposed pixel structure exhibits the dynamic integration capacitance characteristics, which can be controlled by varying the control-voltage at the photogate node. Since the sensitivity is inversely proportional to the integration capacitance, the dynamic integration capacitance characteristics can provide the new functionality and controllability for high sensitivity and high dynamic range. At a low voltage level of the photogate, the pixel sensitivity of the new photogate pixel structure is maximized due to the minimum value of the integration capacitance. At a high voltage of the photogate, the dynamic range of the new structure can be maximized due to the increased well capacity. In addition, at an optimum bias voltage of the photogate, both the dynamic-range and the sensitivity can be simultaneously improved. Consequently, the new pixel structure allows performance tunability as well as optimization in both the dynamic range and the sensitivity of the image sensor cell.
