    Abstract: Insertion guides are mounted to slide blocks supported by a guide to be close to or away from each other.     Abstract: An I-axis phase pulse is allowed to be detected at the sampling point of a chrominance signal with a digitally-implemented circuit. A chrominance signal (sampling frequency f.sub.1) is subsampled by a frequency f.sub.2 (f.sub.1 /N) and subsampling pulses generated in N subsampling pulse generators 10 for N phases, the adjacent ones of the pulses being shifted by one clock (1/f.sub.1) with respect to one another. The subsampled chrominance signal is input to an I-axis determining circuit 17. The I-axis determining circuit operates to detect a maximum value M.sub.1 of a color burst signal (sampling frequency f.sub.1) and the data M.sub.2 after one clock and compare both of the values with each other. Based on the compared result, a selecting signal S.sub.4 is detected for selecting an I-axis phase pulse at the sampling point of the chrominance signal. A selecting circuit 18 selects, as an I-axis phase pulse S.sub.5, a proper one of the N sampling pulse for N phases based on the selecting signal and applies the I-axis phase pulse S.sub.5 to an (N+1)th subsampling circuit 19. The subsampling circuit 19 can provide an I-axis detected output S.sub.3 at the sampling point of the chrominance signal.

    Abstract: A noise reduction apparatus for use in a television receiver or VCR using the NTSC format, in which a video signal or a demodulated color difference signal is processed by an operational circuit which supplies a noise-reduced output signal to a first one of two series-connected one-frame delay elements and which compares the input video signal with an output signal from the first 1-frame delay element, to execute noise reduction. A degree of noise reduction executed by the operational circuit is controlled in accordance with the degree of correlation between the output signal from the second 1-frame delay element and the input video signal, such that the degree of noise reduction is made small or zero when the correlation is below a predetermined level, indicating the presence of motion components in the video signal. Due to the 2-frame delay used in judging that degree of correlation, the judgement will not be adversely affected by interference components of the video signal which result from interaction between the chroma and high-frequency luminance components of the video signal, when there are no motion components in that signal.

    Abstract: In a two-picture television receiver, a field polarity detection circuit detects field polarity of an image signal of a main picture. A first and a second field memories are capable of writing-in an image signal to constitute a sub-picture for respective fields, and read-out circuit alternately reads-out from the first and the second field memories in response to a polarity detection signal of the field polarity detection circuit. A write-in field determining circuit determines into which of the first or the second field memories (2), (3), the image signal for the sub-picture is to be written. This writing is based on the polarity detection signal of the field polarity detection circuit, a vertical synchronization signal in image signal of sub-picture, and a binary signal which changes alternately for respective one field based on the vertical synchronization signal. With this receiver, even a non-interlace image signal can be written, respectively, in the first and the second field memories, and a good quality image of two-pictures can be obtained.
