Abstract:
In a spray nozzle including a nozzle structure having an internal chamber and an injecting hole provided through the nozzle structure at an outer end thereof, a control rod is provided in the internal chamber so that the outer end of the control rod projects outwardly through said injecting hole. A planar disc-shaped member is secured to the inner end of the control rod for defining a movable range in the axial direction of the same rod. A spring member is provided around the same rod for urging the rod inwardly, and a nozzle-tip member is secured to the outer end of the control rod for closing the injecting hole from outside. An apparatus utilizing the spray nozzle is further disclosed.

The present invention is directed to novel compounds. These compounds can be useful in inhibiting the activity of protein prenyltransferases including GGTase I and/or RabGGTase. The compounds can also be used as anti-cancer therapeutics including as part of methods for treating cancer, in assays, and in kits.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus including an image carrying member, a detecting section, and a linear-speed deriving section. The image carrying member carries a toner image. The detecting section detects passages of a mark, provided on the image carrying member, at a plurality of predetermined detection positions. The linear-speed deriving section determines a linear speed of the image carrying member from times at which the detecting section detects the passage of the mark.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus using an electrophotographic process includes an image forming unit, a storage unit, and a control unit. The image forming unit performs monochrome printing and color printing. The storage unit stores print ratio data that relates to printing in the image forming unit is measured over time. The control unit separately performs correction of monochrome toner density and color toner density based on a predetermined first condition. If the first condition in the monochrome printing is met, the control unit performs correction of the monochrome toner density if a predetermined second condition concerning an amount of variation in the print ratio identified from the print ratio data is also met.
Abstract:
In an image density correction method in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, an image density correction is carried out by obtaining an actual toner amount through obtaining a density of a between-sheet patch image having been formed during continuous printing, reconstructing relational characteristics in which the actual toner amount is associated with each variation in developing biases, by considering that the actual toner amount and a reference toner amount are to be made in agreement, when a determination that the actual toner amount disagrees with the reference toner amount is made, and resetting a developing bias for realizing the reference toner amount based on the reconstructed relational characteristics and the reference toner amount. By this means, a high quality image can be obtained by suppressing color fluctuations with printing efficiency maintained at a high level even if large color fluctuations occur during continuous printing.
Abstract:
In conventional optical isolators, an optical signal is dispersed by polarization or the characteristics are varied by heat generation in a garnet crystal. According to the invention, the crystal optical axis (3c) of rutile crystal (3) is oriented so that the separation directions of the ordinary ray (O) and the extraordinary ray (E) are perpendicular to the plane including the optical axes of optical fibers (10, 11). Furthermore, the focusing central optical axis (6c) of a focusing rod lens (6) is arranged parallel with optical axes of the optical fibers (10, 11) and at a substantially equal distance from the four rays, i.e. the ordinary ray (O) and the extraordinary ray (E) propagating along the optical axis of the optical fiber (10) and the ordinary ray (O) and the extraordinary ray (E) propagating along the optical axis of the optical fiber (11). An air gap (7) of about 200 [μm] is provided, as a heat insulating means, between the focusing rod lens (6) and a magnetized garnet crystal (8).
Abstract:
A structuring unit generates a combination pattern of the attribute values by combining an attribute value of the assessment target data with an attribute value indicating a unspecified value. A reconstructing unit searches data matching the combination pattern from the accumulation data, and generates subset data. An index setting unit sets an index indicating significance of relationship between the generated subset data with assessment data. An assessing unit selects subset data that becomes a basis of assessment, based on the set index, and performs an assessment on a prediction result based on the selected subset data.
Abstract:
The intermittent coating apparatus which includes a nozzle 1 which applies a paint 6 to a base material, a feeding side two-way valve 10 which repeats feeding of the paint 6 to the nozzle 1 and stop of the feeding, a return side two-way valve which 11 repeats discharge of the paint 6 to a return side and stop of the discharge, a paint flow path 12, means to feed the paint 6 into the flow path 12, and paint returning means 5 which repeats suction and return of the paint 6 out of and into the nozzle 1, and is characterized in that switching of the feeding side two-way valve 10 is carried out earlier than that of the return side two-way valve 11 within a range not shorter than 5 msec and not longer than 100 msec at least at a coating start time.
