Abstract:
One disclosed embodiment may comprise a system that includes a data capture system that stores a set of data from an associated data source in response to a store signal while enabled based on a control signal. A control system provides the control signal based on a number of store cycles relative to an event to define the set of data, the number of store cycles varying based on the store signal.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for forming a polycrystalline layer using laser annealing for preventing damage to the peripheral region of the substrate during laser annealing. The laser annealing comprises a shadow mask structure. When crystallizing an amorphous layer by laser annealing, the shadow mask structure shields the peripheral region of the amorphous layer from laser irradiation. A method for forming a polycrystalline layer using the laser annealing apparatus is also provided in the invention.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system for adjusting a selectable capacitance of a variable capacitance array to compensate for voltage non-linearity of the variable capacitance array. In general, the system includes the variable capacitance array and a calibration circuit. The calibration circuit operates to determine a voltage across the variable capacitance array and to generate a capacitance selection signal based on the voltage across the variable capacitance array and a known capacitance versus voltage characteristic of the variable capacitance array.
Abstract:
A hand operated snow removal apparatus delivers heated air from a heated air blower through a first air delivery tube and a second air delivery tube to a bifurcated discharge head. The discharge head includes a manifold connected to the second air delivery tube; a left delivery pipe connected to the manifold; a left delivery pipe connected to the manifold; a left delivery pipe connected to the manifold; and a right delivery pipe connected to the manifold. A left nozzle at a forward end of the left delivery pipe, and a right nozzle at a forward end of the right delivery pipe, deliver separate streams of heated air to melt snow.
Abstract:
A grip for a mobile electronic device is provided. The grip includes a band suitable for being gripped or otherwise receiving one or more fingers. The band includes a base section having a magnetic member attached thereto or embedded therein. Optionally, the grip may further include a countermember co-operably opposable with the magnetic member.
Abstract:
An imaging and diagnostic system and method for focal scanning of a specimen using optical projection tomographic microscopy and computer generation of three-dimensional images is disclosed. One embodiment includes a light source and an imaging system having an adjustable focal position, which acquires a plurality of digital 2D projection images of biological tissue placed within a specimen tube that translates and rotates past an optical lens in a helical pattern. A computer captures the images and generates a 3D composite image. Also disclosed is a system and method for preparing a specimen for optical microscopy. One embodiment includes fixing, staining, and/or optically clearing biological tissue within a microfluidic specimen chamber prior to placement in a specimen tube.
Abstract:
A compression collar apparatus is disposed upon an article providing an axial manual grasping stop upon the article, the apparatus includes a first arcuate element having first proximal and distal portions, the first distal portion including an engagement segment. Also, a second arcuate element having second proximal and distal portions, the first proximal portion and the second proximal portion have a first pivotal connection that enables open and closed states of the first and second arcuate elements. Further, a flexible retention arch beam having states of; free, de-arched, and intermediate, includes beam proximal and distal portions, the beam proximal portion and the second distal portion have a second pivotal connection, in the intermediate state the beam distal portion having an interlocking section that has a variable removable engagement with the engagement segment, resulting in the closed state of the first and second arcuate elements about the article.
Abstract:
An image sensor comprising: a first layer having a plurality of groups of photodiodes formed in a semiconductor substrate, each group representing a 2×2 array of photodiodes, with 2 first pixels configured to detect light of a first wavelength and 2 second pixels configured to detect light of a second wavelength, each first pixel positioned adjacent to the second pixels; and a second layer overlapping the first layer, the second layer is organic, having a plurality of organic photodiodes configured to detect light of a third wavelength, each organic photodiode positioned to partially overlap 2 first photodiodes and 2 second photodiodes of the first layer.
