    摘要: A supply of lancets for a multi-use lancing device are carried by a tape and sequentially brought from a storage position to an activating position by advancing the tape around a bend. The lancets are non-circular in cross-section along their longitudinal lengths, and in their activating position they extend from the tape such that their sharp tips are available for lancing tissue. The carrying tape can be arranged in reel-to-reel format in a housing having a lancing opening. The lancets can be integral with the tape and activated to move the lancet through the lancing opening by moving the tape along its tape path or by translating a dedicated service loop of the tape. The lancets can also be independent from the tape and activated through the lancing opening by a separate lancing actuator. A test media can be included on the carrying tape and the housing can contain a sensor to yield an integrated lancing and testing device.

    摘要: A test strip evaluating instrument is used for testing of multiple test strips, and has a transport and positioning device which transports the test strips at right angles to their longitudinal direction from a test strip feed area along a transport path to a disposal area. At least one measuring station with an optical measuring unit is arranged on the transport path. Rails, on which the test strips slide, run along the transport path. The test strips are transported in a step-wise manner by at least two rows of cam elements following one another in the transport direction, and these two rows of cam elements move synchronously with one another in a periodically recurring movement path. The handling of the test strips is facilitated without impairment of the measuring accuracy by the fact that the rails are longitudinally aligned as thin ribs in a disposable transport insert made of a thin plastic material, in which the cam elements engage from above between adjacent pairs of the rails of the transport insert, and in which a bearing element is provided for the tranport insert which supports the transport insert with a support surface in a central area lying between the test strip feed area and the disposal area. A rigid contact-pressure element is also provided, against which the test strip is pressed elastically from below during the measurement, and this contact-pressure element is disposed at the measuring station at a predetermined distance from the optical measuring unit.

Furthermore, this arrangement of the sealing element does not require a specific machining of the surfaces lying close to the sealing element.

    摘要: An apparatus for handling a multiplicity of like bodies such as pills or tablets has a drum rotatable in a housing about a horizontal axis and formed with a multiplicity of throughgoing holes constituting body-receiving pockets. A pair of axially spaced end walls axially close the drum and a pair of inner and outer shields insure that except for an inner input location and an outer retrieval location bodies in the apertures of the drum will not fall out as the drum rotates. A pair of transparent end walls are rigidly mounted together by way of axially extending bolts and carry feed plates, a separating comb, and a separating disc. These end plates and the elements carried on them are slidable axially into and out of the drum. The separating comb is formed of a plurality of axially spaced and parallel elements that define slits that are aligned with the rows of apertures in the drum and between which fit elastomeric discs carried on the separating roller. One end of the comb can be hooked over an axially extending tierod or bolt and the other end can be releasably secured to the end plates also so that this comb can readily be removed from the apparatus and replaced with another comb of different dimensions.
