摘要: The disclosure relates to a method for sealing a cellulosic article in which a sealing solution is applied to one or more cellulosic substrates to form a seal between surfaces thereof. The sealing solution generally includes water, starch, a solid polyol plasticizer, and optionally a liquid polyol plasticizer. Coated surfaces of the cellulosic substrate(s) are then contacted under sufficient conditions to form the seal therebetween, for example after drying and/or with sufficient contact time, contact pressure, contact temperature, etc. The disclosure further relates to a corresponding sealed cellulosic article, for example as formed by the sealing method. The disclosure further relates to a method for recycling in which the sealed cellulosic article is re-pulped, with or without recovery of sealing composition components, then formed into a recycled cellulosic substrate.

摘要: A number of sealants are provided that are resistant to degradation by aircraft fluids. In some embodiments, the sealants are resistant to degradation by Jet A fluid and at least one of the three types of hydraulic fluids typically used in aircraft. These embodiments are also typically cure in place from a two-part polyurethane or polyurea mix, with cure to a visibly clear coating. In some embodiments, they may be sprayed on an aircraft surface or applied by hand (brush or injectable). In other of these embodiments, the sealants comprise, at least in part, a cured, soft, tacky polyurethane gel that is resistant to at least one of a synthetic hydrocarbon based or mineral oil based hydraulic fluid. In one embodiment, the sealant is used on a blade type aircraft antenna.

摘要: A seal structure is a seal structure configured to seal, by using a seal material, between a first opposing surface and a second opposing surface which are opposed to each other. A second part includes an insertion hole which is open on the second opposing surface and into which a fastener is inserted; a chamfered surface including a first end connected to an edge of the second opposing surface, the chamfered surface being inclined relative to the second opposing surface; an end surface including an edge connected to a second end of the chamfered surface, the end surface being inclined relative to the chamfered surface. A space sandwiched between the chamfered surface and the first opposing surface forms a chamfered portion accommodating the seal material protruding from between the first opposing surface and the second opposing surface.

摘要: The embodiments of the invention as described herein relate to a tool or device for sealing exterior duct joints. The device is designed and configured to drive a semi-solid mastic or cement-like material through a hose and a custom designed applicator wand. The various embodiments of the invention include cordless, lightweight and portable versions. This tool is designed to assist in the sealing of ductwork. An extension on the end of the wand enables a user to reach several areas that are either difficult to access, or awkward to seal using traditional techniques. Various embodiments of the spreader head have been designed to perform better for different parts of the duct system. The user only needs a ladder to seal the top of the supply trunk duct, the remainder of the ductwork can be sealed standing on the floor.

摘要: A sealant is provided for use on an aircraft or other vehicle. The sealant may be used with a gasket. The sealant is a perimeter seal that comprises a polyurea member. The polyurea member is a self-curing, two-component mix. It may cure to a hardness in the range of about 40 to 100 (Shore A). It may maintain an adequate peel strength to withstand multiple thermal and pressure cycling, and may have a working life, wherein it may be shaped, of less than about eleven minutes.

摘要: Provided is a joint treatment method that enables smooth joint treatment without damaging the ultraviolet radiation curable resin formed on the interior sheet surface. The joint treatment method is for joining a butt joint portion of interior sheets, the protective layer being formed as a surface layer of each of the interior sheets. The method includes: (1) a step of injecting a joint treatment agent, which has no dissolving ability with respect to at least the protective layer, into the butt joint portion; and (2) a step of attaching, before the injected joint treatment agent is cured, an adhesive tape so as to straddle the butt joint portion such that the tape is in contact with the protective layer and the joint treatment agent present in the butt joint portion.

摘要: A spacer and gasket assembly is shown for receipt between a static structure having a surface and fastener holes therethrough and a removable structure having a surface and fastener holes. The static structure and removable structure are engaged through a multiplicity of fasteners having a shaft diameter. The fasteners are adapted to apply a compression on the gasket between the static structure and the removable structure. The static structure and the removable structure have opposed, typically flat, facing surfaces. The spacer and gasket assembly comprising a substantially non-compressible spacer adapted for receipt between the static structure and the removable structure having a spacer thickness. A gasket has a sticky, deformable, flowable, elastomeric body and a skeleton having a skeleton thickness, the skeleton substantially integral with the body. The gasket has an uncompressed gasket thickness. The spacer and the gasket are adapted to be placed substantially between the facing walls of the static structure and the removable structure and the removable structure will compress and deform the gasket when the fasteners are torqued down.

The gasket comprises a ring of sealing material surrounding a hole for receiving a fastener, the sealing material comprising an at least partially cured polysulphide sealant. The gasket has a region of increased thickness positioned towards the inner periphery of the ring which flows to form the collar.

摘要: A method of preparing a flexible, substantially tack free gasket by forming a liquid composition which is a radiation polymerizable admixture of a free radical polymerizable urethane(meth)acrylate monomer, free radical polymerizable urethane(meth)acrylate oligomer, or combinations thereof; a free radical polymerizable diluent; a free radical polymerization photoinitiator; a wax; a thixotropic agent; and optionally an adhesion promoter and a colorant. The composition is distributed onto a substrate and then exposed to actinic radiation to cure the liquid composition into a flexible, substantially tack free gasket having a Shore A hardness of from about A20 to about A80.
