An estimator estimates a reference three dimensional image density rating for corresponding reference volumetric cell within the particular scene at a reference range from an imaging unit.     摘要: A method of determining noise in a CATV channel, wherein the CATV channel comprises a predetermined frequency band, that employs digital signal processing to isolate the noise signal from an in-service television signal. The method includes an initial step of obtaining a television signal corresponding to a predetermined CATV channel, the television channel comprising a carrier signal modulated by an information signal. Thereafter, the method includes the step of sampling at least a part of the television signal to produce a digital signal segment, said digital signal segment comprising a carrier component, a noise signals component, and an information signal component, wherein said information signal component has a substantially predetermined signal pattern. The method then employs digital signal processing to separate the carrier component from the digital signal segment to produce a baseband signal substantially comprising the information signal and the noise signal. Finally, an estimate of the information signal is obtained and then subtracted from the baseband signal, thereby producing a noise signal estimate.

    摘要: A combine having a camera system is disclosed in which pictures of the ground in front of the vehicle are processed to extract the slope and intercept of a characteristic line indicative of the boundary between the cut and uncut portions of the field. A fuzzy logic algorithm compares the slope and intercept using four input membership functions and a single output membership function. If the slope and intercept extracted from the image are deemed acceptable, they are used to navigate the vehicle through the field. If they are not acceptable, the combine continues to use slope and intercept values previously deemed acceptable to guide the vehicle. This process of image data extraction and quality analysis continues repetitively as the combine traverses the field harvesting crops.

    摘要: The performance of a multiphase and/or multiple amplitude receiver, such as a 64/256 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) receiver, is improved in the presence of single and multiple echoes. A moving window adaptive decision feedback equalizer (DFE) is provided according to the adaptive equation Cn(k+1)=Cn(k)−&Dgr;·W(k)·En(k)·Xn(k), where &Dgr; (delta) is the step size, Cn(k) is the tap value of tap n for the k symbol, En(k) is the error output at the symbol k, Xn(k) is the received signal for pre-cursor taps (FFE) and past decision output for post-cursor taps (DFE), and W(k) is the sliding window function at symbol k. In the adaptation process, some coefficients are fixed while other taps are being adapted. In particular, the adaptation is focused on a group of taps which correspond to received echoes. By only adjusting these taps, no interference or noise is introduced to the decision making device in the digital receiver and therefore, the effect of noise and echoes on the adaptation control is substantially reduced.

    摘要: A fuzzy steering controller for wheel-type agricultural vehicles with an electrohydraulic steering system is disclosed. The fuzzy controller was developed based on a common-sense model of agricultural vehicle steering. The controller implements steering corrections based upon the desired steering rate and the error between the desired and the actual wheel angles. The controller consists of a variable fuzzifier, an inference engine with a steering control rulebase, and a control signal defuzzifier. The controller could be used on different platforms. Tuning of the fuzzy membership functions will accommodate for physical differences between the platforms. The controller achieves prompt and accurate steering control performance on both a hardware-in-the-loop electrohydraulic steering simulator and on an agricultural tractor.

    摘要: An optical interleaver apparatus and method are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a first birefringent element, a first waveplate, a second birefringent element, a polarization rotation device and a retro-reflector. The first birefringent element separates an input optical signal into first and second beams having complementary polarizations. The first waveplate rotates a polarization of light in a first wavelength range, but not a second wavelength range. The second birefringent element splits the first and second beams into third, fourth, fifth and sixth beams. The polarization rotation device and retro-reflector are configured such that, on a reverse path, the second birefringent element combines the third beam with the sixth beam and the fourth beam with the fifth beam. The inventive apparatus may operate as either a demultiplexer or multiplexer. In an alternative embodiment, the apparatus includes a switchable polarization rotator disposed between the first birefringent element and the first waveplate. The switchable polarization rotator allows the apparatus to operate as a router by either rotating or not rotating the polarizations of the first and second beams.

    摘要: A system and method for creating 3-dimensional agricultural field scene maps are disclosed comprising producing a pair of images using a stereo camera and creating a disparity image based on the pair of images, the disparity image being a 3-dimensional representation of the stereo images. Coordinate arrays can be produced from the disparity image and the coordinate arrays can be used to render a 3-dimensional local map of the agricultural field scene. Global maps can also be made by using geographic location information associated with various local maps to fuse together multiple local maps into a 3-dimensional global representation of the field scene. The disparity images can be used to analyze a variety of agricultural features.
