摘要: A direct current (DC) offset estimation, frequency offset estimation, and compensation system (200), receives data packet (204) with preamble (206). A DC offset estimator (210) and a frequency offset estimator (212) operate concurrently to produce estimates of DC and frequency offsets of the data packet (204), which are determined from a portion of the preamble (206) as it is received. As the data packet (204) is received, a compensator (214) receives the estimates of DC and frequency offsets and compensates the remaining portion of the data packet (204) to produce a DC and frequency compensated data packet (218). Concurrent operation of the DC estimator (210) and the frequency offset estimator (212) advantageously allows more time to produce the estimates of DC and frequency offsets.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for determining drug permeability, wherein the method comprises, for each reference drug of at least two reference drugs having (i) the same ionization state at a given pH and (ii) a known drug permeability determined by the same drug permeability testing technique, the calculation of a metric related to retention time of each reference compound eluted from a liquid chromatography column having an immobilized artificial membrane functional group. Then, based on each metric and each known drug permeability, drug permeability is expressed as a function of the metric. The method may further comprise the calculation of the metric related to retention time for a further drug eluted from the liquid chromatography column, the further drug having the same ionization state at the given pH and an unknown drug permeability, and an assessment of drug permeability for the further drug, based on the metric for the further drug and the function.

摘要: A plurality of utility distribution system elements such as cables, wires, pipes or ducts are supported in the space existing between a suspended ceiling and the upper adjacent floor by a plurality of support brackets. The support brackets include elements having a shape corresponding generally to an inverted L which are secured to the undersurface of the upper adjacent floor and thereby provide downwardly extending vertical elements. A plurality of slots are formed in the support brackets and a plurality of elongated straps are securable to the support brackets using the slots and bending tabs formed in the straps. The straps cooperate with the support bracket to secure various utility distribution system elements such as pipes, cables, wire bundles or ducts. In an alternate embodiment, the support brackets are arranged in pairs and are joined by horizontally extending braces therebetween to form ladder-like support structures which receive and support various utility distribution elements.

摘要: Software configuration changes are made in a digital computer by executing selected opcodes to add new features. When executing each opcode, a persistent record is kept of execution of each elementary command of the opcode. To recover from a failure of execution of an opcode, remediation opcodes are executed for a known error, or else the persistent record of execution is accessed to identify executed commands of the opcode, and the executed commands are reverted in reverse order by undoing changes made to the software configuration by the executed commands of the opcode. The resulting configuration of the digital computer is compared to a backup copy of the configuration existing at the start of execution of the opcode. If the reversion of the executed commands of the opcode has not reproduced the backup configuration, then the configuration of the digital computer is restored to the backup configuration.

摘要: A new method of manufacturing nanoscale single- and multi-component metal oxide particles is described. In a first step of the method, a first solution that includes one or more metal salts, an acid, and a solvent is formed; in a second step, a second solution that includes an organic polymer, a base, and water is formed; in a third step, the first solution is combined with the second solution to form a combined solution, and a precipitation reaction occurs such that metal hydroxide particles precipitate out of the combined solution; in a fourth step, the metal hydroxide particles are collected, rinsed, and dried; and finally, in a fifth step, the metal hydroxide particles are heated, thereby forming nanoscale metal oxide particles of less than about 100 nm in size. Exemplary nanoscale particles that may be produced using this method include indium tin-oxide (ITO) and antimony doped-tin oxide (ATO).

摘要: A generally planar electrical box mounting bracket is securable to a convenient wall stud and is supported by a wall spacer. The bracket defines an aperture and a pair of countersunk recesses diagonally positioned with respect to the aperture. A pair of flushmounting fasteners are received within the countersunk recesses and threadably engaged the tabs of an electrical box to secure the electrical box against the interior or rear face of the bracket. A second pair of fasteners are positioned diagonally at opposite corners with respect to the center aperture and are used to secure an electrical box ring upon the front face of the bracket. The attachment of the electrical box ring is independent of the attachment of the electrical box to the bracket thereby facilitating the removal and assembly of the electrical box ring to the bracket without disturbing the attachment of electrical box. In an alternate embodiment, a generally planar electrical box mounting bracket is securable to a convenient pair of adjacent wall studs which defines a plurality of apertures and pairs of countersunk diagonal recesses.
