Abstract:
A method and technique of routing interconnects of an integrated circuit providing improved routing quality. In an embodiment of the invention, the technique provides linear spine interconnect routing. In memory array blocks, such as in DRAM and SRAM memory designs, connected pins are generally separated by large distances in a first direction and small distances in a second direction, or a spine or channel region. A route area is defined within the spine region. In one embodiment, obstacles in the route area are identified and corresponding forbidden areas are demarcated. The linear spine interconnect is routed in the first direction within the route area while avoiding the forbidden areas. Pins are connected to the spine interconnect by stitching interconnects. Stitching interconnects are generally routed in the second direction.
Abstract:
A technique will automatically route interconnect of an integrated circuit while taking into consideration current density rules. In an implementation, the technique uses a shape-based approach where a grid is not used. Based on data input including current density and a frequency of each net, the technique will determine the current requirements for each net. In an implementation, the technique forms a Steiner tree for a net, and routs using the Steiner tree. The technique widens nets having greater current requirements; adjacent wiring may be pushed aside to create sufficient space for wider nets.

Stage devices for various uses including use as a reticle stage or substrate stage in a microlithography system. An exemplary device includes a carrier and multiple linear EM actuators that couple the carrier monolithically to a base. The linear EM actuators collectively provide controlled movability of the carrier relative to the base in all six DOFs (X, Y, Z, θX, θY, θZ). The multiple linear EM actuators comprise at least one multiple-DOF linear actuator but fewer than six linear EM actuators. For example, the stage device can have two two-DOF linear actuators providing respective motions of the carrier in the X, Y and Y, Z DOFs (and collectively in all six DOFs) or can have two two-DOE linear actuators providing motions of the carrier in the Y, Z, θX, θY, and θZ DOFs and a one-DOF linear actuator providing motions in the X DOF.
Abstract:
An interface for an integrated POS solution that allows a merchant to process card payment transactions through a secondary transaction payment processing network. The interface of the present invention expands the functionality of POS system by expanding the scope of use of a secondary port in the POS system. A primary POS port connects to a primary transaction payment processing network and a secondary POS port connects via an interface to an Internet payment gateway and then to a secondary transaction payment processing network. The interface converts the secondary port message formats into a message format for processing through an Internet payment gateway and secondary transaction payment processing network. The interface also performs additional reasonability and security checks typically not performed by a secondary port on cardholder track data. The improved processing of track data results in fewer declines so that transactions are processed more efficiently and accurately.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the elucidation that TRPML3 is involved in salty taste perception in primates including humans and likely other mammals and based thereon high-throughput mammalian and medium-throughput oocyte-based electrophysiological assays for identifying human TRPML3 modulators, preferably TRPML3 enhancers. Compounds that modulate TRPML3 function in the assay are expected to affect salty taste in humans. The inventive electrophysiological assays, such as the two-electrode voltage-clamp technique, facilitate the identification of compounds which specifically modulate human TRPML3. The assays of the invention provide a robust screen useful to detect compounds that facilitate (enhance) or inhibit TRPML3 function. Compounds that enhance or block TRPML3 channel activity should thereby modulate salty taste. In addition, these compounds may be used to regulate sodium excretion, urinary output and other biological functions relating to sodium levels and TRPML3 related functions.

Abstract:
A bonded drive shaft includes an elongated tube having an internal bore and at least one end fitting for connecting to a drive component. The end fitting includes first and second locating portions that engage the internal bore to precisely and firmly locate the end fitting with respect to the tube. The end fitting also includes an adhesive gap portion positioned between the locating portions to form a generally annular adhesive receiving gap between the first locating portion, the second locating portion, the adhesive gap portion and the internal bore of the elongated tube. Adhesive is injected into the adhesive receiving gap to bond the end fitting to the elongated tube.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed that generates design profiles and a surface therefrom that promote water drainage from soil in an area of interest. Topographical data describing an initial surface of the area of interest are used to form initial profiles. The method generates the design profiles using the initial profiles and desired design parameters such as minimum slope, maximum slope, optimal slope, maximum depth, optimal depth, starting elevation, ending elevation, rules of curvature, and rules of earth balancing. The method generates design surface profiles so that the cut volumes and fill volumes of the soil are at or near balance as much as possible from the available soil in the area of interest.
