摘要： Disclosed is an optical modulator which substantially lowers loss and has little attenuation in the intensity of an optical signal after modulation. The optical modulator includes a 1×2 RZ pulse carver wherein optical phase shifters used for modulation are arranged along two arm waveguides held between a 1×2 coupler and a 2×2 coupler, two interferometric modulators connected respectively to two output ports of the 2×2 coupler, and a 2×1 coupler for combining the outputs of the interferometric modulators.

To reduce the number of intersections in an entire matrix optical switch, an optical combining device of M inputs and one output is divided into (M−1) pieces of unit optical combining elements each having two inputs and one output, which are arranged immediately after (N−1) pieces of respective output ports excluding one piece of the output port closer to the input in the matrix optical switch out of N pieces of the output ports in the optical switch of one input and N outputs.

摘要： To provide a manufacturing method of a superconducting radio-frequency acceleration cavity used in a charged particle accelerator enabling the manufacturing with few waste amounts of the niobium material at low cost in a short time, the manufacturing method has each of the steps of (a) obtaining an ingot made from a disk-shaped niobium material, (b) slicing and cutting the niobium ingot into a plurality of niobium plates each with a predetermined thickness, by vibrating multiple wires back and forth while spraying fine floating abrasive grains with the niobium ingot supported, (c) removing the floating abrasive grains adhered to the sliced niobium plates, and (d) performing deep draw forming on the niobium plates and thereby obtaining a niobium cell of a desired shape.

摘要： A developing unit includes a developing roller which rotates about a rotational axis to supply toner to a photoreceptor, and a magnetic roller which forms a magnetic brush with a two-component developing agent having carrier and the toner and thereby forms a toner layer on the developing roller, the developing roller including: a cylindrical core portion which includes an electric conductor; a first resistive layer which covers a cylindrical surface of the core portion; a second resistive layer which covers the first resistive layer, and has electric-resistivity lower than that of the first resistive layer; and a current leakage control member which prevents leakage of electric current from the core portion toward the second resistive layer through an end of the developing roller along a direction of the rotational axis.
