摘要: In mass production of CMIS integrated circuit devices or the like, electric characteristics, such as Vth (threshold voltage) or the like, disadvantageously vary due to variations in gate length of the MISFET. This problem has become serious because of a short channel effect. In order to solve the problem, various kinds of feed-forward techniques have been studied in which a subsequent variation factor process is regulated to be reversed with respect to variations in a previous variation factor process so as to cause these variation factors to cancel each other out. Since the feed-back technique has an effect of the cancellation process over the entire system, the technique can be relatively easily applied to a product with a single type of MISFE, but is difficult to be applied to a product equipped with a plurality of types of MISFETs. The invention is adapted to adjust the amount of halo implantation by multivariate analysis based on the result of a patterning step of the gate electrode and a film forming step of an offset spacer.

摘要: The tunable dispersion compensator 10 of the present invention comprises: the Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZIs) 21 to 25 cascaded on a planar lightwave circuit; and the tunable couplers 31 to 34 connected to between each corresponding pair of the MZIs respectively. The Y-branch waveguide 15 and 16 are used for connecting to between the MZIs 21, 25 as both end sides and the input/output optical waveguides 13, 14 respectively. The waveguide loop mirror 40 is connected to the final stage MZI 25 among the MZIs 21 to 25 which an incident light is propagated last therethrough. The half-wave plate 50 is inserted to the loop waveguide 41 of the waveguide loop mirror 40. And it becomes able to enhance (double) the amount of tunable dispersion because an input light signal is passed twice through the similar path by the waveguide loop mirror 40.

摘要: There are provided microorganisms having a property of producing a lipid containing unsaturated fatty acids as constituent fatty acids and extracellularly secreting the produced lipid encapsulated in lipid vesicles, methods of screening said microorganisms, as well as methods of efficiently producing a fatty acid-containing lipid using said microorganisms. Furthermore, there are provided lipid vesicles encapsulating a lipid containing unsaturated fatty acids, and foods, cosmetics, and animal feeds comprising said lipid vesicles added thereto. Artificially treated microorganisms or microorganisms collected from nature are grown on a solid medium, and microbial strains that form lipid vesicles at the periphery of the colonies and/or microbial strains that, when cultured in a transparent liquid medium, make the culture liquid cloudy are selected. The microorganisms obtained are cultured, lipid-containing lipid vesicles secreted in the culture liquid, are separated from the culture liquid, and the lipid is separated and purified.

摘要: It is intended to provide a breeding method whereby a lipid-producing fungus belonging to the genus Mortierella can be effectively and efficiently bred without resort to antibiotics. Transformation is carried out with the use of an auxotroph (for example, uracil auxotroph) of a fungus belonging to the Mortierella as a host. More specically speaking, a gene compensating for the auxotrophy, which is employed as a marker, is transferred into the host (the gene transfer step). Next, a transformant is selected by using the recovery from the auxotrophy as the marker (the selection step). The lipid-producing fungus may be M. aplina, for example.
