Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include transmitting a first signal instructing a user equipment (UE) to transition a state of a secondary cell associated with the UE; determining an allocation of resources for the UE to communicate with the secondary cell; and transmitting a second signal including an indication of an active bandwidth part (BWP) used for the allocation of resources based on the determining. The active BWP and the first signal may indicate the transition of the state of the secondary cell.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, a base station, a user equipment (UE), and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The base station may encode a wakeup signal so that a preamble of the wakeup signal indicates whether the wakeup signal is relevant to the UE. The UE may select a technique for detecting the wakeup signal based at least in part on a partial, full, or no synchronization. In some aspects, the wakeup signal may be encoded with a system frame number. In some aspects, wakeup signals for guardband/standalone UEs are provided. Numerous other aspects are provided.

A HARQ communication can be received over a set of one or more links based on a first scheduling grant. One or more interference parameters related to receiving the HARQ communication can be determined as well as one or more predicted interference parameters for a next HARQ communication. HARQ feedback can be transmitted for the HARQ communication including the one or more interference parameters and the one or more predicted interference parameters.

A mobile device receives a control signal having a first bandwidth. The mobile device receives a data signal having a second bandwidth different from the first bandwidth. The control signal and the data signal are received over a single carrier frequency. The data signal is transmitted after the control signal such that the data signal and control signal are separated by a time interval. The time interval is based on a switching latency of the mobile device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit control information using a narrowband common control region that occupies a portion of a system bandwidth. In some cases, data may be multiplexed during the same time period in tones that are not used by the common control region. The base station may transmit control region configuration information to one or more user equipment (UE) devices such as the bandwidth, central frequency, and multiplexing status of the common control region. In some cases, the common control region may be divided into subbands, and different UEs may be assigned to monitor different subbands. Unassigned UEs may monitor a default anchor subband.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed to reduce pilot overhead by providing common reference signals coded with cover codes that are orthogonal in time and frequency domains. Common reference signals that are coded by cover codes orthogonal in both domains can be de-spread in both the time and frequency domains for improved resolution and larger pull-in windows for both. Also disclosed is semi-uniform pilot spacing in both the frequency and time domains. In a time domain, a first pilot symbol pair is spaced by a first time interval from each other and a second pilot symbol pair is spaced by a second time interval from the first pair, the second interval being greater than the first. In a frequency domain, a first set of pilot symbols is densely placed in a selected frequency band and a second set of pilot symbols is sparsely placed surrounding and including the selected frequency band.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes identifying a transmission timing of a control reference signal transmitted over a radio frequency spectrum band during an OFF duration of the UE with respect to the radio frequency spectrum band, in which the identified transmission timing is relative to a transition from the OFF duration to an ON duration of the UE with respect to the radio frequency spectrum band; receiving the control reference signal at the identified transmission timing; and performing a warm-up procedure, before the ON duration, based at least in part on the identified transmission timing of the control reference signal. A method for wireless communication at a wireless network includes indicating, to the UE, the transmission timing of the control reference signal; and transmitting the control reference signal at the indicated transmission timing. The OFF duration and the ON duration are coordinated with a wireless network.

Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure provide for apparatus, methods, and software, for enabling inter-node coordination between scheduling entities and subordinate entities for managing a modem processing pipeline. Pipelining is a proven technique for improving the utilization of hardware processing blocks without substantially increasing chip area. Accordingly, various aspects of the present disclosure provide for efficient processing pipelining at the modem of a wireless communication device, with a general aim to reduce communication latency even in a wide bandwidth network. In various examples, modem processing pipeline efficiency may be augmented by utilizing certain coordination signaling between the sender and the receiver of downlink transmissions, to make the sender aware of the receiver and the pipelining enhancement to be undertaken at the receiver. By virtue of this coordination, the best tradeoff for pipeline efficiency may be targeted, while still meeting a generally tight ACK turnaround requirement.
