Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) history feedbacks are provided. A user equipment (UE) receives one or more data blocks of a plurality of data blocks, each of the one or more data blocks received in one of a plurality of transmission occasions. The UE transmits an individual feedback for each of the one or more data blocks indicating whether the data block is received successfully. The UE transmits a feedback history report for one or more transmission occasions of the plurality of transmission occasions.

Abstract: Different sets of downlink control information (DCI) fields may be configured for DCI that includes an indication to trigger bandwidth part switching at a user equipment (UE). For example, a UE may receive DCI that triggers the UE to switch operation from a first bandwidth part to a second bandwidth part. The UE may also identify a set of transformable DCI fields and a set of non-transformable DCI fields within the DCI. The UE may then determine updated content of the DCI for application to the second bandwidth part based on whether DCI fields are included in the set of transformable or the set of non-transformable fields. In some cases, the UE may identify a null assignment in the received DCI and may switch its operation from the first bandwidth part to the second bandwidth part based on the null assignment.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to techniques for using orthogonal demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) for downlink control channels in wireless communications systems. In an aspect, a method for a user equipment (UE) includes receiving one or more DMRSs over a multi-symbol downlink control channel. The method may further include identifying a time-first control channel element (CCE)-to-resource element group (REG) mapping for the multi-symbol downlink control channel, and identifying an orthogonal DMRS of the one or more DMRSs based on the time-first CCE-to-REG mapping, and decoding the multi-symbol downlink control channel based on at least the identified orthogonal DMRS.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may implement cross-carrier scheduling. A user equipment (UE) may identify a minimum scheduling delay and may receive a downlink grant on a first CC. The UE may further identify the slot in which a downlink data transmission corresponding to the downlink grant will be received, and may identify the slot such that the minimum scheduling delay is satisfied. The UE may the receive the downlink data transmission, as indicated in the downlink grant, in the identified slot. In some examples, the UE and the base station may alternate between a long minimum scheduling delay and a short minimum scheduling delay. In some examples, the UE and the base station may alternate between a cross-carrier mode, and a self-scheduling mode.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclose provide various methods and apparatuses for communicating, controlling, and configuring component carrier and bandwidth part (BWP). A scheduling entity receives a capability report from a user equipment (UE). The capability report indicates a capability of the UE to utilize at least one of carrier aggregation (CA) or one or more bandwidth parts. The scheduling entity transmits a command to the UE to reconfigure at least one of a CA configuration or a bandwidth part (BWP) configuration. The scheduling entity determines an anticipated response timing of an acknowledgment (ACK) of the command based on the capability report received from the UE. The scheduling entity receives the ACK according to the anticipated response timing.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to communication systems, apparatus and methods which enable or support transmitting/receiving downlink control information (DCI) carrying a downlink grant or an uplink grant. A method includes detecting a reference length based on an effective length of a downlink (DL) grant DCI and an effective length of an uplink (UL) grant DCI and calculating a length difference based on the effective DL grant DCI length and the effective UL grant DCI length. A length of a padding field in the DL grant DCI and/or the UL grant DCI is set equal to the calculated length difference such that the lengths of the DL grant DCI and UL grant DCI are both equal to the reference length. Padding bits are inserted in the padding field of the DL grant DCI and/or the UL grant DCI. Thereafter, the DL grant DCI and/or the UL grant DCI is encoded and transmitted to a scheduled entity.

The UE may receive, based at least in part on an occurrence of a triggering event associated with the UE, a trigger signal that identifies resources to be used for transmission of an aperiodic tracking reference signal (TRS). The UE may receive the aperiodic TRS based at least in part on the trigger signal and the identified resources. The UE may perform at least one of a tracking function, or a synchronization function, or an alignment function, or a combination thereof, in response to the occurrence of the triggering event and based at least in part on the aperiodic TRS.
