Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to communication systems, and more particularly, to sending and monitoring for a decoding candidate. Certain aspects provide a method for decoding information sent via a wireless transmission. The method generally includes receiving an indication of an association between a first decoding candidate and a second decoding candidate, monitoring the first decoding candidate in a search space of a first set of resources, the first decoding candidate received from a wireless node, and monitoring the second decoding candidate in a search space of a second set of resources, the second decoding candidate received from the wireless node, wherein the monitoring of the second decoding candidate is based on the association between the first and second decoding candidates.

Abstract: A base station may maintain multiple beam pair links, with one being actively used for communication. The active beam pair may become blocked. Accordingly, it may be necessary to switch to another beam pair. The apparatus may be an apparatus for wireless communication. The apparatus for wireless communication may include a memory and at least one processor coupled to the memory. The at least one processor is configured to determine a set of active beam pairs including at least a first beam pair and a second beam pair and select the first beam pair. The at least one processor is also configured to predict that the first beam pair is blocked, the prediction based on an expiration of a timer and sweep through the set of active beam pairs based on predicting that the first beam pair is blocked.

The apparatus may determine a signal configuration for transmitting a tracking reference signal (TRS) to a user equipment (UE). Abstract: A control resource region of an New Radio system slot structure may be separated into control resource sets, only some of which may be used for control transmissions. Aspects presented herein improve the efficient utilization of resources by enabling data transmission in resources of the DL control resource region and/or the UL control resource region. A UE receives an indication of a control resource set in a control resource region of a slot that may provide a control channel resource or a data channel resource and performs rate matching for data transmissions in the data channel based at least in part on the indication. The indication may be a semi-static indication, e.g., RRC signaling, of the control resource set.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods of beam switching are presented. A first beam switch message (BSM) is transmitted to a second device, the first BSM including a first instruction for switching beams. A reset state is selected from a plurality of reset states including a first state for the second device to disregard the first instruction and a second state for the second device to maintain execution of the first instruction. A second BSM is transmitted to the second device before the second device completes execution of the first instruction. The second BSM includes a second instruction for switching beams and indicating which reset state is selected.
