Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a report that includes measurements associated with one or more downlink reference signals that are received using a set of candidate downlink beams. The UE may transmit one or more uplink reference signals using a set of candidate uplink beams. The UE may receive, from the base station, information that indicates, among the set of candidate downlink beams and the set of candidate uplink beams, a best uplink beam to use for one or more uplink transmissions. For example, the base station may select the best uplink beam based at least in part on the measurements associated with the one or more downlink reference signals and measurements associated with the one or more uplink reference signals. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may provide hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for multiple physical channels (e.g., multiple physical downlink shared channels (PDSCH)) scheduled via multi-component carrier. The UE may monitor control channel occasions (e.g., physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) occasions), to receive wireless communications from a base station (e.g., a next-generation NodeBs (gNB)). For example, the UE may receive multiple downlink control information (DCI) messages that may schedule multiple PDSCH over different component carriers. The UE may identify one or multiple downlink assignment indices (DAI) in the received DCI messages. In some examples, the UE may generate one or more feedback bits of a HARQ feedback codebook (also referred to as an acknowledgement codebook). The one or more feedback bits include a same number of feedback bits for each downlink assignment index associated with each DCI message.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to support codebook construction for enhanced hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to support a first type of HARQ feedback and a second type of HARQ feedback that includes additional information relative to the first type. A base station may transmit multiple downlink transmissions to the UE, where a first set of the downlink transmissions may be associated with the first type of HARQ feedback and a second set of the downlink transmissions may be associated with the second type of HARQ feedback. The UE may attempt to decode the downlink transmissions and may generate respective feedback for the downlink transmissions. The UE may construct a single HARQ codebook to multiplex the different types of HARQ feedback for the downlink transmissions and may transmit the HARQ codebook to the base station.

Abstract: A base station allocates uplink and/or downlink resources (e.g., in the time domain, frequency domain, spatial domain) to user equipment (UEs), or groups of UEs, that are subsequently reallocated. A base station determines a reallocation of uplink resources and/or downlink resources, and issues a cancellation indication or preemption indicator that corresponds to at least a portion of the previously allocated resources. UEs is configured to monitor for cancellation or preemption indicators, and based on received cancellation or preemption indicators, UEs determines whether or not to proceed with an uplink transmission or downlink reception using their previously allocated resources. Rules for application of cancellation or preemption indicators are identified by a UE and/or base station based on traffic prioritization and cancelation indication prioritization, based on types of scheduled reference signals to be transmitted by the UE, etc.

A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling from a network entity configuring a virtual cell group with multiple cells, where each cell may have a radio frequency spectrum band with a frequency gap that exceeds an operating band threshold. The network entity may transmit additional control signaling including information for the virtual cell group. Abstract: An aspect of this disclosure relates to a relay node, and a method of wireless communications by the relay node, including attempting to decode first code block groups of a transport block received in a resource allocation and according to a first encoding configuration. The aspects include identifying a symbol in the resource allocation that includes both of a first part of a successfully decoded one, and a first part of an unsuccessfully decoded one, of the plurality of first code block groups, and determining a modified transmit configuration for the symbol. Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein permit a user equipment (UE) to transition among different power configurations, which include different values for different power parameters, that impact an amount of power consumed by the UE. In some aspects, these transitions may be signaled by a base station based at least in part on traffic volume for the UE, which may assist with improving throughput and/or extending battery life of the UE. Furthermore, these transitions may be signaled dynamically, such as in downlink control information (DCI) and/or a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) MAC-CE, which may conserve battery power and/or network resources as compared to reconfiguring the UE using an RRC message, and which may allow the UE to be reconfigured quickly as conditions associated with the UE change.
