Abstract:
In a system and a method for generating an image that contains superimposed or fused image data, a first system acquires an image dataset from a subject and a second system obtains a video image of the subject. The positions of the first, the second systems in the acquisition of the image datasets are determined with the an arrangement for position determination, such as a navigation system, with reference to which the position of the image dataset acquired with the first system and the position of the video image dataset can be determined in space, so that the two image datasets can be superimposed or fused with one another. An arrangement also can be provided for generating a video image expanded with image data of the image dataset acquired with the first system.
Abstract:
In a visualization system and method for visualization of data that relate to a medical intervention at a patient, a surgeon has no visual contact with a surgical instrument but can visualize in the form of a projected geometrical shape by a visualization device, the geometrical shape corresponding to the position and orientation of the surgical instrument onto the body surface of the patient under which the surgical instrument is located with a characteristic of the geometrical shape indicating the distance of the surgical instrument from the body surface.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a mobile X-ray apparatus having an X-ray system comprising an X-ray source and an X-ray detector that is arranged at a carrier device. For registering a series of 2D projections of a subject, the carrier device is pivotable under motor drive around an axis that proceeds at least essentially horizontally through the carrier device. The X-ray apparatus comprises means for generating a 3D image dataset from the registered 2D projections. The invention is also directed to a method for determining the projection geometries required for producing a 3D image dataset from registered 2D projections.
Abstract:
An X-ray exposure system has a mobile X-ray apparatus with an X-ray source and an X-ray receiver that are adjustable relative to a subject for registering successive 2D projections of the subject from different projection directions, an arrangement disposed outside the beam path of the X-ray beam emanating from the X-ray source for directly determining the projection geometries of the X-ray source and of the X-ray receiver at the points in time of the individual 2D projections, and a computer supplied with signals from the arrangement for the direct determination of the projection geometries, which reconstructs 3D images of the subject from the 2D projections.
Abstract:
A method for the operation of a nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus excites the spin system of an examination subject by applying a fundamental magnetic field as well as by irradiation with a sequence of radio-frequency pulses and the nuclear magnetic resonance signals emitted by the spin system are measured. The chronological development of the longitudinal magnetization of the spin system can be tracked by a sequence of partial read pulses each having a flip angle of less than 90.degree. and thus a fast identification of the longitudinal relaxation time T.sub.1 can be achieved. In combination with applied gradient fields, the method can be applied in imaging nuclear magnetic resonance tomography.
