摘要: Provided herein are processes for topically applying an antimicrobial finish to a textile substrate, such as a yarn, a fabric, a composite, or an assembled article (for example, a garment). Specifically, the antimicrobial finish is based on hindered amine compounds that are applied in an aqueous bath (such as a commercial or home laundry setting), using the factors of pH and compound solubility to promote the formation of a durable antimicrobial halamine finish. Advantageously, the antimicrobial finish, which may be applied to fabrics made of any of a variety of fiber types and combinations of fiber types, has been found to be durable to repeated launderings.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for curing a coated fiber, comprising either two fiber coating curing stages separated by a cooling stage, or two fiber coating curing stages separated by a distinct time interval, or both. One of the two fiber coating curing stages responds to the coated fiber, and provides a partially cured fiber coating. The other of the two fiber coating curing stages responds to the partially cured coated fiber for further curing the coating of the fiber. In one embodiment of the invention, a cooling stage is placed between the two curing stages, while in the other the curing stages are placed a set distance apart such that polymerization of the coating initiated by the first curing stage has time to complete prior to the coating being irradiated by the second curing stage. The cooling stage is used to actively remove heat generated during the cure process from the fiber coating, while the time delay is used to allow complete polymerization to occur before subsequent irradiations. These embodiments of the present invention can be used separately or in combination to achieve optimal fiber coating cure.

摘要: A treated textile material comprises a plurality of yarns or fibers having a hindered amine or halamine compound disposed on the exterior surface of the yarns or fibers and/or dispersed in the interior portion of the yarns or fibers. A treated textile material comprises a finish on a surface thereof, the finish comprising the product of a reaction between a cross-linking agent and a polymer comprising a plurality of secondary, hindered amine moieties attached to the polymer chain. Methods for making the treated textile materials are also described.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for implementation of fault-tolerant networks provide a network fault-tolerance manager for detecting failures and manipulating a node to communicate with an active channel. Failure detection incorporates one or more methods, including message pair and link pulse detection. Failure recovery includes switching all node data communications to a stand-by channel or switching just those nodes detecting a failure. Communication between nodes provides the distributed detection, with detecting nodes reporting failures to their network fault-tolerance manager and the network fault-tolerance manager broadcasting the failure recovery to all nodes. The network fault-tolerance manager is middleware, residing with each node in a logical hierarchy above a physical layer of a network and below a transport layer of the network. The approach is particularly suited to Ethernet LANs and capable of using commercial off-the-shelf network components.

摘要: A 5α-androstane-3β,5,6β-triol injection and its preparation are disclosed. The injection uses hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin as a solubilizing agent and the active ingredient is present at a weight ratio of 1-20:40-500 to the hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin. The injection may also comprise, by weight, 1-100 parts of at least one isotonic adjusting agent, 0-200 parts of at least one freeze drying filler, and 0-2000 parts of at least one solvent. The preparation method comprises dissolving hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin solution, 5α-androstane-3β,5,6β-triol and at least one additional soluble excipient in water for injection in sequence to obtain a raw injection solution, and subjecting the raw injection solution to decolorization, depyrogenation, filtration and sterilization to obtain the injection. Drying the filtrate yields a solid for injection.
