摘要： The present invention provides a process for producing biologically active recombinant yeast protein disulfide isomerase, which includes the steps of: a) deleting, substituting, or adding one or more bases in a region encoding an endoplasmic reticulum retention signal in a gene encoding protein disulfide isomerase of yeast to modify the gene so as not to encode part or all of the endoplasmic reticulum retention signal; b) incorporating the modified gene into an expression vector; c) transforming host cells with the expression vector; and d) culturing the host cells transformed with the expression vector in a culture medium kept at a nearly neutral pH, thereby causing protein disulfide isomerase to be secreted in an active state outside the host cells. According to the process of the invention, recombinant yeast protein disulfide isomerase can be secreted in a large amount in a biologically active state into a culture medium, and can be collected by a simple purification method.

摘要： A short arc lamp which has a lamp body in which a concave space is formed, a base plate which is located in a rear part of this body, a transparent part which is located in a front opening of the lamp body, with a frame part in its vicinity, and which hermetically encloses the concave space, and a pair of electrodes forming an arc gap in the concave space. The frame part is connected to a circular conductive ring which is provided with the roughly square cross section and is connected to the lamp body. At least a front side of the circular conductive ring is exposed to the ambient environment. A gap is formed between the frame part and the circular conductive ring. The frame part extends more to the front than the circular conductive ring, and on the exposed surface of the circular conductive ring and on a side of the projecting part of the frame part, step-like projections are formed.

摘要： A rotary type capping apparatus for screwing caps onto the mouths of containers includes a turn table provided with a plurality of container holders fixedly mounted along the periphery thereof, a main motor for rotating the turn table in a predetermined direction and a capping head assembly including a plurality of cap holders, each of which is disposed above the corresponding one of the plurality of container holders, so as to be movable closer to or away from the turn table. In one aspect of the present invention, the capping apparatus includes at least one motor exclusively used for rotating the cap holders for causing the caps held by the cap holders to be screwed onto the mouths of containers. In another aspect of the present invention, the capping apparatus is so structured to increase the torque applied to a cap until it has reached a predetermined level during the cap screwing operation thereby insuring that all caps may be screwed on as tightly as desired.
