A piezoelectric ink droplet ejecting device drivable with a low voltage, simple in structure, less costly to manufacture and capable of producing printed data with high resolution. A piezoelectric ink droplet ejecting device has a plurality of ink ejectors each composed of a piezoelectric transducer for varying the volume of an ink passage to eject ink out of the ink passage. A single piezoelectric ceramic panel which is polarized in a thickness direction has a plurality of through holes parallel to the polarized direction. The through holes serve as ink passages. When a driving electric field is applied in a direction perpendicular to the polarized direction, the piezoelectric ceramic panel is elastically deformed under thickness shear effect, thus varying the volume of the ink passages to eject ink droplets therefrom.

A laminate piezoelectric actuator element comprising plural laminated piezoelectric subunits each of which comprises piezoelectric ceramic layers for generating longitudinal electrostrictive strain with a voltage, internal electrodes for applying the voltage to said piezoelectric ceramic layers, and piezoelectrically-inactive portions which correspond to parts of the piezoelectric ceramic layers having no internal electrodes laminated thereon. The piezoelectric ceramic layers and the internal electrodes are alternatively laminated on each other to form a piezoelectric subunit. An adhesive member having an attaching area equal to or smaller than an area of each internal electrode is provided between the neighboring piezoelectric subunits to thereby attach and assemble the plural piezoelectric subunits to form the piezoelectric actuator element and form slit portions between the laminated piezoelectric subunits in such a manner as to surround the adhesive member. The piezoelectric actuator element further includes external electrodes provided at both sides thereof in such a manner as to be connected to the internal electrodes to apply the voltage to the internal electrodes.

A titanium trichloride catalytic component and a method for homo- or co-polymerization of an .alpha.-olefin. In separating a titanium trichloride catalytic component from a solution prepared by dissolving titanium tetrachloride, an organic ether compound and an organo-aluminum compound in a solvent, the above stated solvent is a mixed solvent prepared by allowing 20.about.70% by volume of an aromatic hydrocarbon halide to be concomitant with a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon and/or an alicyclic hydrocarbon in the presence of an olefin; the organo-aluminum compound, the titanium tetrachloride and the organic ether compound are added to the mixed solvent at a solvent temperature not exceeding 55.degree. C.; then, the solvent temperature is raised to a temperature between 45 and 150.degree. C. over a period between 10 minutes and 24 hours; and, during this temperature raising process, an organic ether compound and/or titanium tetrachloride is further added to have a titanium trichloride catalytic component measuring 10 to 500.mu. in average particle diameter separated from the solvent. The titanium trichloride catalytic compound thus obtained is used in the homo- or co-polymerization of .alpha.-olefins. The invention aims at improvement in adjustment of the particle size, uniformity of the particle diameter and the strength of the titanium trichloride catalytic component and eventually at improvement in the particle shape and uniformity thereof of the polymer to be obtained by the use of the catalytic component.
