摘要： A copying machine which comprises a document tray for accommodating a plurality of sheet-like documents to be copied; a first reading station at which a first of the sides of the document is scanned; a second reading station at which the other or second of the sides of the documetn is scanned; a document handling mechanism including a document inverting device including a document transport passage for inverting the document to permit the other or second of the sides thereof to be presented to the second reading station after the first of the sides thereof has been presented to the first reading station; a photosensitive medium for copying an image of each of the documents, scanned at any one of the first and second reading stations, onto a copying sheet; an intermediate tray for the temporary storage of the copying sheet after the latter has been moved past a transfer station and from which the copying sheet is subsequently transported again to the transfer station; a sheet inverting device for turning the copying sheet upside down before it is delivered onto the intermediate tray; and a sheet delivery passage leading to the intermediate tray. The transport of the document in the document transport passage parallels the transport of the copying sheet in the sheet delivery passage.

摘要： A copying machine with automatic document feeder has two document size detectors. On detects document size by means of sensors when the document is on a document carrying table before it is transported by a feeding apparatus to a copying position. The other detects at least the length of the document in the direction of its motion. If different sizes are detected by the two detectors, the size of copy paper and magnification to be used in the copying are determined on the basis of the document size detected by the latter detector. With a feeder of this invention, document size can be detected accurately and efficiently.

摘要： The duplex copying machine according to the present invention is arranged to copy both faces of an original document onto both faces of copy papers in such manner that the front and the reverse surfaces of the original document are copied correspondingly onto those of the copy papers, without inconsistency of the copied surfaces, even when paper jamming is given rise to in the course of the operation under the verso copying mode.Further, the duplex copying machine according to the present invention has such function as to positively classify the copy papers subsequent to the jammed paper into respective proper bins.

Confidentiality is protected by performing erase operations repeatedly to the region storing the unnecessary image data according to the security level.

摘要： Provided are a user interfacing display apparatus having improved operability without confusing the user as to setting displayed on a pop-up screen, and an image forming apparatus. When a copy ratio key as a detail setting key is selected on an LCD as a display section provided in the user interfacing display apparatus mounted on an image forming apparatus, the pop-up screen is displayed. At the same time, a display state of an interruption key is changed, so as to be displayed to inform that the interruption key is unavailable. While the pop-up screen is being displayed, a user is not allowed to select the interruption key. Thus, for example, on contrary to a case where process is switched to an interruption mode while the pop-up screen is being displayed, there will be no confusion as to the detail setting displayed on the pop-up screen before switching to the interruption mode.
