Exemplary embodiments relate to a vortex flowmeter having a vortex body which projects into the flowing measurement medium in a measuring tube, a sensor for detecting the vortex frequency being connected downstream of said vortex body in the direction of flow and being provided with means for measuring the temperature of the measurement medium, and a downstream electronic evaluation unit determining the flow rate in a temperature-compensated manner, the sensor including a carrier body on which a plurality of piezoelectric elements, which are arranged at a distance from one another and are intended to measure the frequency, and a temperature-measuring element are placed.
Abstract:
A process automation system includes at least one wireless-aware component for detection of the occurrence (e.g., start and end) of a wireless volume data transfer from at least one other component which might be a wireless-unaware component. Upon such detection, the at least one wireless-aware component requests for bandwidth on behalf of the wireless-unaware component to decrease the communication time and subsequently releases this bandwidth again. A method is provided for operation of the process automation system, in which an upload/download is generally detected by either explicit initiation of the upload/download in the wireless-aware component, or by automatic detection in the wireless-aware component.
Abstract:
A control device for controlling a circuit breaker. The control device includes a central processing unit and is arranged to communicate with an output module arranged to output operational commands to the circuit breaker. The output module includes processing means arranged to execute an operational command at a point of time received from the central processing unit. The invention also encompasses related methods.
Abstract:
A rotor disk for an electric motor including a shaft hole for receiving a shaft of the electric motor, a set of positioning holes around the shaft hole, each configured to receive a positioning pin. The shaft hole and the set of positioning holes are positioned in the rotor disk such that when the rotor disk is set to a rotated position with respect to another similar rotor disk, and the shaft and the positioning pins are penetrated to the respective holes of the two rotor disks, the disks cause a pressing force to the shaft.
Abstract:
A system and method are disclosed for automated handling of at least one working step of a workflow in an automation and/or electrical engineering project via a data input interface, a processing unit and a data output interface connected to the processing unit for transmitting any data read in by the data input interface or generated by the processing unit to at least one of a data repository, another processing unit and/or a display unit. The data input interface can read in input values belonging to the at least one working step of the workflow, and an input uncertainty including a range of input values. The processing unit can generate an output value of the working step from the input value, and calculate an output uncertainty characterizing a range of the output value, by taking into account a parameter and/or a technical condition of the working step.
Abstract:
A high voltage dc power source for providing a charging current to an electronic device, including one or more strings connected in parallel, each string being subdivided into dc power source units connected in series and each string being provided with a solid-state switch configured to connect and disconnect the string, and a control unit adapted to turn on and turn off the solid-state switch, and the control unit is configured, upon receiving an order to connect the string, to control the switch of the string to be alternately turned on and off so that a soft charging of the electronic device is achieved.
Abstract:
A differential protection system including a plurality of inputs power cables for transfer of power from electric power generators, such as wind power generators, to an output cable. Each input and output power cable is provided with a respective circuit breaker. The protection system includes a plurality of protection equipment unit each being adapted to be arranged at a respective one of the input cables or at the output cable, each protection equipment unit including a measuring unit for measuring the current and voltage of the cable, and including a control unit being operatively connectable to the circuit breaker of the respective power cable for selectively tripping the circuit breaker when the protection system discovers a differential fault. The protection system includes a charging current compensator for compensating the differential protection for charging currents of the cables of the transfer system.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an HVDC breaker (300) comprising at least two individually controllable HVDC breaker sections (305) connected in series, wherein the HVDC breaker is arranged in a manner so that the number of HVDC breaker sections tripped upon tripping of the HVDC breaker depends on the operational event in response to which the tripping occurs. The invention further relates to a control apparatus (400) for controlling the HVDC breaker, as well as to a method of breaking an HVDC line. The method comprises receiving (500) a system status signal indicative of an operational event requiring the breaking of the HVDC line, and determining (505) the number of HVDC breaker sections required for the breaking.
Abstract:
A recloser includes at least one pole position indicator. The position indicator includes a flexible strip that rides in a U-shaped channel. The flexible strip has an alternating color pattern and that is visible through spaced transparent windows on the indicator. The transparent windows are spaced so that the flexible strip, when in a first position shows only a first color and when in a second position only shows a second color.
