Abstract:
A method for local processing of casting data arising from measurement data obtained from a continuous casting mold by sensors. The data processing is carried out using a process control computer pertaining to the control system of the continuous casting installation. The measurement and control data is immediately collected from the continuous casting mold in cold field modules, converted to bus signals in a bus line, stored at least in the control system of the continuous casting installation, and/or processed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device which enables the actuators and consumers provided on a roll stand for rolling metallic and non-metallic strips to be supplied with operating media. The inventive device comprises a self-supporting construction module consisting of elements of variable which can be connected to each other, the height, width and depth of said elements being variable.
Abstract:
A continuously cast strand is subjected to soft reduction between the guide rollers below the mold and between the soft reduction stretch and the mold the strand is subjected to format or thickness reduction between at least one pair of position controlled guide rollers so that independently of the quality of the steel, the casting speed and the spray cooling, the position of the type of the mold cavity and hence the molten steel therein is maintained constant along the soft reduction stretch.
Abstract:
The preferred quality requirements postulated by producers for the product cold-rolled strip include, among good flatness and optimum thickness tolerances, also dryness of the strip in the outlet of strip rolling mills. Already existing devices that are disposed in the outlet of roll stands comprise stationarily installed and mobile partitions, a roll barrel and a roll strip venting device and a vapor escape. The aim of the invention is improve the aforementioned device by disposing above the rolled strip (10) a strip deflector (3) with an integrated fan-operated strip venting device (4) by means of a low-pressure nozzle (7) and an upper roll barrel gap seal (5) in the form of a slotted nozzle (6) and below the rolled strip (10) an extraction device (16) with integrated lower strip deflector (17).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a strip guide for a strip casting unit, comprising at least two segments, in particular roller segments (1-4), each with a strip input side (2.1) and a strip output side (3.1) and a pair of roller supports, each with a number of support rollers (5), running along a support region. The roller supports are adjustable by means of, in particular, hydraulic adjuster units (8). According to the invention, the strip guide can be more flexibly embodied and the assembly and disassembly times reduced, whereby a mechanical connection (9) is provided between neighbouring segments (1-4) and, on fitting a cylinder pair (8.1-8.4) to the strip input side (2.1) of a segment (1-4), the adjustment movement occurs both on said side (2.1), as well as simultaneously on the strip output side (3.1) of a previous segment connected thereto. On fitting a cylinder pair (8.1-8.4) to the strip output side (3.1) of a segment (1 4), the adjustment movement thereof affects said side (3.1), and simultaneously the strip input side (2.1) of a subsequent section connected thereto.
Abstract:
A C-section ring fixed on a steel-mill roll and coaxially surrounding its stub has inner and outer axially extending legs defining an axially open cavity. The inner leg is tapered away from the roll and is formed adjacent the free end with a radially outwardly open annular groove. An annular cover part fixed on a stationary support, engaged in the cavity, forming a drain compartment open axially away from the roll, and formed with a radially outwardly open catchment groove radially aligned with a free end of the inner leg is also formed with a passage extending from the catchment groove to the drain compartment. An annular extension on the cover part has an inner surface carrying a seal ring that bears radially inward on the stub. An add-on part on the extension forms with the extension, with the cover part, and with the C-section ring a labyrinth.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for pickling hot-rolled special steel strips (1) having an austenite, ferrite and/or martensite structure. The inventive method is carried out in a pickling line (7) with pickling sections (8) containing acids and rinsing sections (9) containing rinsing water (15). The aim of the invention is to provide a method that does not require an additional stretch-leveling step for descaling. The costs for pickling are reduced by pickling the hot-rolled special steel strip (1) in the pickling sections (8) with hydrochloric acid (13) and rinsing it in the first rinsing sections (9) with azotic acid (14) or an equivalent substitute pickling medium (14b) and treating it in further rinsing sections (9) with rinsing water (15).
Abstract:
Between an intermediate roll unit and a dimensioning finishing roll unit of a continuous light-section or wire rod rolling train, a multifunctional section is provided with three parallel lines and at least the first and second rolling lines having rolling blocks and substantially all of the lines including cooling sections and/or temperature equalization sections. Via distributing guides and 180null loop forming path segments, the workpieces are selectively directable from the first line to the dimensioning finishing rolling unit without traveling over the second and third lines and to the dimensioning finishing rolling unit after travelling over all or part of the second and third lines.
Abstract:
A rolling mill, especially an inclined roll or Diescher roll mill 3 its stand formed by a pair of portal frames on a foundation spaced apart by cassettes holding the upper and lower roll units and tie rods securing the portal frames against one another and the cassettes. The tie rods are spaced apart vertically or horizontally on the portal frames.
Abstract:
A looper for thick metal strip has a large-diameter outer basket centered on an upright axis and a small-diameter inner basket axially above the outer basket and centered on an upright axis. The strip is fed on edge and generally tangentially into the outer basket to form therein a large-diameter spiral having an inner end. Then the strip is fed upward from the spiral inner end around the inner basket and is finally pulled tangentially from the inner basket. The strip is straightened generally as it leaves the inner basket.
