Abstract:
A flow rate sensor for a dishwasher includes a container configured for holding an amount of liquid. The container has a known volume corresponding to a vertical activation length, and inlet and a selectively closeable liquid outlet. An upright hollow tube is mounted in the container and has at least one magnetically activated sensor device activatable within the vertical activation length. At least one float is movably mounted to the tube for floating on the liquid. The float includes a magnet therein for activating the sensor device when the float moves the magnet through the vertical activation length. A controller is in electrical communication with the sensor device and includes a timer function. The controller calculates the rate of flow into or out of the container based on the time taken by the float to move through the vertical activation length. Related dishwasher designs are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method, and corresponding system, for dishwasher operation including receiving an operation setting at a dishwasher to be performed by the dishwasher, where the dishwasher is configured to receive an input of electrical power at a defined operating voltage and frequency; and causing an operation of the dishwasher based on the operation setting by causing an inverter of the dishwasher to operate a pump motor of the dishwasher at an electrical power condition different from the defined operating voltage and frequency received at the dishwasher, where the electrical power condition at the pump motor causes the dishwasher to operate in accordance with a quiet dishwashing cycle, a high water pressure dishwashing cycle, a constant mass flow operation, or a minimum water use operation.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for autonomously switching off a domestic appliance after completion of a previously selected program is disclosed. The domestic appliance has a control device that executes programs controlling the domestic appliance and an operating unit. The domestic appliance is connected to electrical energy from a power source through circuit arrangement comprising a terminal connection and first and second switches. The first electrical switch is separate from the second switch and can be switched from an open state to a closed state in which the switch is electrically conductive to connect the control device to the electrical energy. The control device is designed to switch the second switch from an open state to a closed state in which the control device is connected to electrical energy through the second switch as soon as the first switch is switched to the closed switching state.
Abstract:
A dishwasher that includes a treatment chamber in which items to be washed are supplied with washing liquor; a reservoir to exchange heat; feed lines to fill the reservoir with fresh water; outlet lines to direct a pre-heated contents of the reservoir into the treatment chamber; and a recycler to deliver the washing liquor from the treatment chamber into the reservoir.
Abstract:
A home appliance includes an electronic controller with a trigger port which starts an operating cycle for the home appliance in response to a signal received on the trigger port that indicates availability of an alternative resource.
Abstract:
A dishwashing machine executes a washing or rinsing step of jetting hot water accumulated in a tank into a washing room. The dishwashing machine includes a heater for heating the hot water in the tank, a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the hot water in the tank, and a heater control unit for controlling the heater so that the hot-water temperature in the tank becomes a set temperature, based on the measured value of the temperature sensor. The heater control unit is capable of controlling the heater so that the hot-water temperature in the tank becomes a waiting temperature that is lower than the set temperature, in a quiescent operating state in which the washing or rinsing step is not executed.
Abstract:
A domestic appliance including an adsorption unit and further including a process air conduit, wherein an adsorption container operates as a heat exchanger for heating a stream of air flowing in the process air conduit and being applied to the adsorption container, with the adsorption unit configured for alternate and reversible operation in a first operating state in which a stream of air flowing in the process air conduit is applied to the adsorption container and which adsorbs adsorptive evaporating in the phase transition container, and in a second operating state in which the adsorbing agent is heated by the heater and the adsorptive is desorbed, with desorbed adsorptive condensing in the phase transition container, the domestic appliance including an assembly operatively associated with the adsorption unit for applying a stream of air flowing in the process air conduit to the adsorption container in the second operating state.
Abstract:
A cleaning apparatus for cleaning items to be cleaned is provided. The cleaning apparatus comprises at least two loads. The cleaning apparatus has a modular control system, which comprises a machine control system and at least one contactless control element. The machine control system is set up to perform at least one cleaning program. The contactless control element is set up to supply at least one of the loads with energy on a variable basis. The machine control system is set up to provide at least two different actuation strategies for the cleaning apparatus. Each actuation strategy comprises information about required energies for the loads. The machine control system is set up to transmit information about the required energies for the associated loads to the contactless control element via at least one bus system in line with a selected actuation strategy. The contactless control element is set up to apply the respective required energy to at least one associated load.
Abstract:
A dishwasher having at least two washing programs for washing items to be washed, each of the at least two washing programs having at least one washing step and one rinse aid step. The dishwasher also has a heater to heat rinse aid fluid to an essentially identical maximum temperature in at least two rinse aid steps of the at least two washing programs.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to dishwashers, and more particularly, to a dishwasher and a method for controlling the same, which can measure turbidity of the washing water, and control operation of the dishwasher with reference to the turbidity detected thus, to prevent wasting of water, and optimize a washing time period. The dishwasher includes a sump for holding washing water, a washing pump for pumping the washing water to provide a portion of the washing water to dishes to be washed through a main flow passage, and a turbidity sensing means for sensing turbidity of the washing water, wherein the turbidity sensing means is positioned at a sampling flow passage through which the other portion of the washing water passes. The method for controlling a dishwasher includes the steps of putting a washing pump into operation, detecting turbidity of the washing water, adjusting a washing time period preset at a control unit according to the turbidity detected thus, and operating the washing pump according to the washing time period adjusted thus.
