Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to apparatus for carrying articles such as fruit for sorting, and in particular though not exclusively to apparatus for singulating the articles. There is provided a singulation apparatus for an article carrying system, the apparatus comprising a flume adapted to receive a plurality of articles at a first end; a fluid inlet associated with the first end and arranged in use to direct a fluid flow to carry the received articles along the flume to a second end; wherein a parameter of the fluid flow is controlled in order to singulate the received articles along the flume. A method for singulation is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Method for the transportation and weighting of each of a continuous succession of agricultural products comprising a singling device with a plurality of pockets linearly arranged and on a rectilinear motion in translation along a parallel direction to the alignment line of the pockets, wherein the products are grasped in a drawing station by means of a first transferring means provided with gripping devices (grippers) opening downside and transferred to a release station wherein they are placed onto a second transferring means, wherein said gripping devices grasp in succession the products arranged on said singling device and wherein during the transportation onto the first transferring said products are singly weighed; said gripping means and the respective products are subjected to, in said first transferring means, a translation and to sequential and ordered distribution along two or more distinct and parallel alignment axes; said second transferring means comprises a plurality of movable conveyors parallel one to the other, aligned onto the respective vertical plane with respective alignment axes, and provided with a plurality of containers and open at the top; the motion of said grippers and of said containers is such that to a same gripping device is associated a corresponding one of said containers, so that each gripping device releases the respective product onto a respective one of said containers.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tipping actuator for a conveyor system that comprises a plurality of article carriers moving on an endless conveyor in a conveying direction, each article carrier having a carrier frame for bearing an article, the carrier frame being pivotally mounted on the article carrier and operable to tip to enable discharge of the article borne on the carrier frame. The tipping actuator comprises a trigger member for contacting the article carriers to tip them and is configured such that, when in a non-contact position, the article carriers are able to at least partly tip towards the trigger member such that the contact portion of the trigger member is received by a portion of the article carrier. In another embodiment, a contact portion of the trigger is sloped with two different gradients. An electromagnet may be used to cause actuation of the trigger. The tipping actuator may be able to allow tipping in opposite directions of adjacent carriers, for example in some embodiments the trigger may be formed of upstream and downstream parts.
Abstract:
An apparatus for singulating products supplied in bulk, such as, for instance, fruits, potatoes, or eggs, more particularly for unround products, for instance pears or sweet peppers, comprising:an endless conveyor which extends in a transport direction (T), wherein the conveyor is provided with at least one row, extending in the transport direction, of carriers (1a; 101a) configured such that between each two successive carriers in the row a transport position for a product is formed, wherein each carrier comprises at least one roller (4; 104), arranged on a respective axis of rotation (5a, 5b; 105); wherein at least one of said rollers (4; 104) includes at least a first roller-section (21; 121) and an adjacent second roller-section (22; 122) having mutually different product engagement properties, wherein at least two successive carriers in a said row of carriers include respective rollers that each include at least a first (21; 121) and a second roller section (22; 122), wherein the second roller sections (22; 122) of the at least two successive carriers are located at mutually different axial positions.
Abstract:
A fluid-based radial distribution system includes an internal passageway and a plurality of openings radially spaced around the internal passageway. A plurality of gate members are associated with at least some of the plurality of openings, with the gate members are configured to move between an open position that allows product to move through the opening associated with that gate member and a closed position that restricts product from moving through the opening associated with that gate member.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a holder, device or method for sorting and/or transporting products, the holder comprises: a product carrier (4) movable in a transport direction for receiving and transporting the product to be transported; a first shaft (6) operatively connected to the product carrier (4) for rotating the product carrier in order to discharge the product transported with the product carrier; tilting means (14) for tilting the product carrier (4) about the first shaft (6) at a discharge position; and a second shaft (8) which is operatively connected to the product carrier (4) and to which a flexible member (10) can be releasably attached for discharging the product from the product carrier (4) in controlled manner.
Abstract:
A whole cane sweet sorghum storage and handling system and method is described. The system and method places leaf-stripped whole cane stalks onto a storage pile which is ventilated to control conditions that prevent the deterioration of sugars in storage, which allows the production of sweet sorghum to ethanol after the harvesting season. The system and method comprises a crane system for transferring the oriented cane either from the transport wagons or dump pile to the storage pile and a long concrete pathway. The cane may be further cleaned of leaves, seed heads, dirt and foreign objects. Cane is deposited on a concrete slab on which airflow conduits have been laid with fans providing airflow. Thermocouples monitor pile conditions.
Abstract:
A belt conveyor apparatus includes a tube sloping from a hopper at the lower intake. A belt passes along a floor of the hopper then up through the tube. The hopper floor has edge portions curving upward such that as the belt moves along the floor, side portions of the belt curve upward. Hopper sidewalls extend upward and outward from bottom inner edges thereof located above right and left sides of the middle portion of the belt, and outer edges of the belt are thus located under the sidewalls. Seal strips are to the sidewalls with lower edges sealing to right and left sides of the middle portion of the belt such that pockets are formed under the sidewalls between the curved side portions of the belt and the seal strips. A trap opening in the tube also allows oilseeds to drop out of the tube from under the belt.
