    摘要: An image scanner-reader has an image read unit, and an employing control unit. The image read unit is used to read an original document and provide image data of the original document. The employing control unit is used to control the relative moving speed between the original document and the image read unit, and when an original document reading operation is suspended, the employing control unit controls the restart of the reading operation after decreasing the relative moving speed to a slow reading speed of the original document. Therefore, when the image data buffer becomes full enough to cause a suspension state, and the read operation is restarted after changing control conditions, so that the quantity of data transferred to the image data buffer is reduced. Namely, according to the present invention, the number of occurrences of the suspension state can be greatly reduced, and thereby the overal reading speed can be improved without increasing the data receiving speed of a host device.

    摘要: A multi-port buffer stores digitized image and/or audio information from a video camera and transfers the stored image information to a plurality of output channels. Digitized input data is passed through a crossbar switch and stored in a random access memory (RAM). The image data is retrieved from RAM and passed the crossbar switch to one of a plurality of first-in, first-out (FIFO) registers. Raster scan lines are passed from the FIFO registers to corresponding output channels. The order and rate of writing to RAM and reading out to the FIFO registers is controlled by an asynchronous queuing arbiter. If one of the output channels is slower than the others or operates at a variable clock speed, the asynchronous queuing arbiter changes the order in which the FIFO registers are filled to accommodate that output channel. Should one of the output channels fail, the bus request for the corresponding FIFO register is disabled, thereby skipping the failed channel.

    摘要: A scanning control system for use in a transmission or reception system of a facsimile equipment for controlling the secondary scanning speed of an image reader or recorder provided therein. In the transmission system, the scanning control system is coupled to an image memory for storing image information inputted from the image reader and supplying the image information to a coder, and responsive to the input signal and output signal of the image memory so as to detect the remaining capacity of the image memory. The scanning control system controls the secondary scanning speed in accordance with the detection results of the remaining capacity of the image memory. The secondary scanning speed is continuously increased under a condition of limiting it to a predetermined maximum speed when the remaining capacity is in a first range, maintained as it is when being in a second range, continuously decreased under a condition of limiting it to a predetermined intermediate speed when being in a third range, and the secondary scanning is stopped when being in a fourth range. In re-start after the stopping, the secondary scanning speed is set to a predetermined minimum speed.
