    Abstract: A connecting part of a storage device including a body, a plurality of connecting terminals, and a grounding member is provided. The body has a first end and a second end opposite to each other. The connecting terminals are disposed at the first end and the second end respectively. The grounding member is assembled to the body. At least a part of the grounding member extends from one of the first and the second ends to another one of the first and the second ends. The connecting part of the storage device is grounded by contacting the grounding member to a connector of an external device when the connecting part of the storage device is connected to the connector of the external device.

    Abstract: An image capturing apparatus is disclosed. An image capturing section captures an image of light and obtains image data. An image display section displays the image data obtained by the image capturing section with a predetermined number of pixels. A storage section stores the image data obtained by the image capturing section. An interface section is connectable to an external storage device. A control section causes the image data obtained by the image capturing section to be stored to the external storage device connected through the interface section, when the captured image data are stored to the external storage device, the image data whose number of pixel exceeds the predetermined number of pixels to be converted into image data having the predetermined number of pixels, and the converted image data to be stored to the storage section.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an image forming apparatus including: at least three storing devices; a detecting unit; and a control unit, wherein the striping is carried out by using all of the storing devices, and the mirroring is carried out by using at least two of the storing devices except at least one storing device. When one of the storing device is failed, in case that the mirroring was carried out by using the failed storing device, the mirroring is continued by using the one storing device which is not used for carrying out the mirroring instead of the failed storing device.     Abstract: Charging of a camera and backup of data are concurrently executed to enable picking up an image regardless of a remaining available memory. As the camera is attached to a cradle, image data for the image picked up by a camera module of the camera is directly transferred to and recorded in a HDD of the cradle. Image data, already recorded in the flash memory of the camera, is backed up by the HDD of the cradle. Further, the cradle allows a charging circuit to charge a rechargeable battery of the camera using electric power supplied via an AC cord. Also, the cradle has a tripod bore through which the camera is fixed to a tripod for picking up the image.

    Abstract: An external storage device is connected to an image pickup apparatus provided with a first image storage medium capable of storing plural taken images and image display means, and adapted for backup of image information stored in the first image storage medium. The device includes a second image storage medium, a connection detecting unit, a reception unit, a transfer means, a conversion unit, and a second transfer unit. The transfer unit writes predetermined taken image information read from the first image storage medium into the second image storage medium and erases the predetermined taken image information from the first image storage medium according to a detection output of the connection detecting unit and an output of the reception unit. The conversion unit converts the predetermined taken image information into an image matching a display ability of the image display means. The second transfer unit writes the converted image information in the first image storage medium.
