摘要: A feeder for apparatus for ejecting a mixture of liquids, e.g. urethane foam, comprises a pair of swash plate proportioning pumps one individual to each of the liquids, e.g. resin and isocyanate, each proportioning pump being fed by a gear pump from a supply of the respective liquid. Seepage along the drive shafts of the isocyanate pumps is continuously removed by bathing them in a recirculating stream of flushing agent. The swash plate and gear pumps and flushing agent pump are all driven by a single motor from a common chain drive. The liquids are heated during passage through separate hoses to a common dispensing head or gun, by immersed coil electric resistance heaters extending lengthwise freely within the hoses. A novel control system is provided for the hose heater circuit, the adequacy of the liquid supply and other operating conditions.

摘要: An aerosol type dispensing package utilizing CO.sub.2 as a propellant has a container with a dispensing valve having a passage extending longitudinally through the nozzle thereof and at least one lateral passage opening into the longitudinal passage. Separate flow paths extend from obturator means in the valve to the central passage and to the lateral passage. The obturator means obturates a main flow path from a dip tube and is movable to the open position upon actuating of the valve. The dip tube extends from the valve means to near the bottom of the container and is in communication with the main flow path. A body of a solution of a product to be dispensed in a liquid in which CO.sub.2 can be dissolved fills the container to a level below the top of the container for leaving a gas space in the upper part of the container. Compressed carbon dioxide is present in the space in the container above the body of solution.

摘要: A system for safely dispensing fluids, especially low stability fluids such as catalysts, comprises a pair of fluid operated pumps of very small volume alternately operable for drawing in individually small quantities of catalyst from an unpressurized, sanitary source of supply, and for then pressurizing and dispensing the catalyst in individually small increments; the two pumps operating alternately to provide a continuous pressurized discharge of catalyst despite the fact that only a small quantity is pressurized at any given time. Because only a small quantity of catalyst is under pressure, and the basic supply is not under pressure and is maintained in a sanitary condition, the potential for violent reaction of the low stability fluid is greatly reduced. Also, the small quantity of fluid involved taken in conjunction with force dissipating structural features incorporated in the system, produces a manageable reaction, despite the conventional violence of such reactions, whereby the system greatly minimizes the hazards heretofore involved in the use of such low stability fluids.

摘要: A reciprocating type of finger pump for use on top of a product container. This combines a tubular housing, including a laterally directed spray nozzle, mounted coaxially in the sleeve of an accumulator cap including a central valve. The valve opening leads to a dip tube which passes into a liquid reservoir in the container. The tubular housing, including the spray nozzle, is depressed manually so that it moves telescopically in the accumulator sleeve, driving a hollow piston against the tension of a spring. The first compression stroke serves to prime the pump, forcing a piston to close the valve to the dip tube. Simultaneously, air in an annular chamber of the housing surrounding the hollow piston is compressed. On the reverse or suction stroke, the valve to the dip tube is opened, creating a vacuum which causes the liquid to be sucked up from the reservoir and into the hollow piston. On the second or subsequent compression strokes, the compressed air and liquid are forced through normally closed pressure responsive seals into the inner mixing chamber, where the compressed air breaks up and atomizes the liquid, causing the atomized spray to move at high pressure through the spray nozzle. Simultaneously, the valve to the dip tube closes, air is drawn into and compressed in the outer annular chamber, and the cycle is ready to be repeated in response to the successive release and reapplication of pressure on the tubular housing. Means is provided in response to rotation of the cylindrical housing relative to the accumulator sleeve for locking the pump against compression for shipping or safety purposes.

摘要: A two or three piece metal container is adapted to hold a pressurized product for dispensing through a valve mounted on the container. The container has a safety venting system therein, whereby the product may be vented from a filled pressurized container through the system when an increase in internal pressure threatens to blow the top or bottom off the container. The venting system comprises a plurality of triple scores formed in the seam where the container body is joined to the top closure of the container. When the internal pressure of a filled container increases sufficiently, the periphery of the top closure buckles outwardly causing the residual of the main score in the triple score to fracture and thus produce a plurality of vents to permit the highly pressurized contents of the sealed container to safely escape and prevent end blow-off.

摘要: A centrally bored tubular member having its opposite ends respectively connected to a shower head and its inlet water pipe for passage of the shower water through the bore. The bore is formed in three portions, namely, a large diameter inlet portion and a smaller diameter outlet portion connected together by an even smaller diameter central portion to thereby form an annular shoulder located centrally within the tubular member. A pair of short diversion tubes are connected to the member on opposite sides of the shoulder, with one tube opening into the inlet bore portion and the other tube opening into the outlet bore portion. The tubes extend downwardly and are connected to and opened through a container cover to which a depending container is removably attached. A control valve positioned within the tube which is connected to the bore inlet portion controls the flow of water therethrough. Thus, part of the water flowing through the bore may be diverted through the container to pick up bath oils and the like additives for dispensing same through the shower head.

摘要: A disposable sealed container as it is formed is aseptically filled with water for inhalation therapy. A first duct fashioned integrally with the container has an integral breachable seal to provide an opening for passing oxygen under pressure through the water when the container comprises a humidifier reservoir for operating in a first mode and for removing water when the container comprises a nebulizer reservoir for operating in a second mode. A second duct fashioned integrally with the container has an integral breachable seal to provide an opening through which wetted oxygen is forced outwardly when the container operates in its first mode and through which atmospheric air is drawn when the container operates in its second mode. The container also possesses an integrally molded foot arrangement into which one end of the first duct terminates. The foot is constructed by laterally indenting the lower portion of the container. Thereby, a series of communicating channels is provided between the foot and the main part of the container. In order to provide a stand for the bottle with the foot a socket containing pedestal is provided.
