    摘要: A positive displacement pump for dispensing fluid includes a fluid body sub-assembly including a fluid body and a negating check valve. The negating check valve includes a negating body defining a dispensing opening. The fluid body and the negating body form a flow path for the fluid. The fluid is dispensed through the dispensing opening. The positive displacement pump is primed by allowing trapped air within the flow path to flow out of the dispensing opening. The negating check valve may be fully or partially attached to the fluid body. The trapped air within the flow path flows out of the dispensing opening when the negating check valve is partially attached to the fluid body.

The dispensing system also includes a controller communicating with the at least one sensor to collect information regarding operational cycles of the pump based on the signals. As a result, one or more diagnostic processes are enabled at the controller during operation of the adhesive dispensing system. These diagnostic processes may include a leak rate test for the dispensing system, an overspeed detection test for the pump, and expected life cycle monitoring of the pump or other components.

    摘要: A flow-through filling pump for receiving a liquid supply and discharging a predetermined amount of the liquid therefrom includes a housing defining a supply chamber and a discharge chamber and a reciprocating piston positioned in the housing intermediate the supply and discharge chambers. The piston is movable along an axial liquid flow path defined by the chamber, between a fill position and a discharge position. A drive assembly is operably connected to the piston to drive the piston between the fill and discharge positions. A seal member extends between the piston and the housing to isolate the supply and the discharge chambers and at least a portion of the piston from a portion of the housing at which the drive assembly operably connects to the piston. The pump includes a non-return type inlet valve mounted to the piston. The inlet valve has a biasedly mounted valve element, which is biased to the closed position. The inlet valve is moveable with the piston and the valve element is movable relative to the piston to permit and to terminate flow of liquid through the valve into the discharge chamber as the piston is moved between the fill and discharge positions.

    摘要: Pump units comprising a metering reciprocating pump with adjustable length of stroke are used in packing machines for filling of packing containers with a metered quantity of flowable contents, e.g. yogurt. Adjustments in the length of stroke in order to adapt the amount of filling goods to the volume of the packing container interferes with the breaking sequence at the extreme position of the piston and alters the time for each pumping stroke. These drawbacks are avoided by means of an arrangement which includes a movable braking device for the piston as well as a valve arrangement which is linked to the braking device and serves to adapt the speed of the piston to the length of stroke.
