Abstract:
An oxygen detector for use in a double envelope lamp is described. The detector may be formed by nitriding a metal surface to produce a metal piece with a first visual color or state. The surface thickness is sufficient to exclude oxygen during normal assemble, but thin enough to change colors during lamp operation if oxygen is present.
Abstract:
Multiple position display panels for displaying one or more characters side-by-side in one or more rows and including a plurality of parallel elongated conductors bearing a plurality of flat cathode segments along their length and an anode associated with each group of the display segments. Portions of the cathodeconnecting conductors are offset and are disposed within grooves or depressions in an insulating sheet or are embedded in an insulating layer where the cathode elements cross them. A slotted insulating sheet is disposed between the cathode elements and the anodes, the slots being aligned with the cathodes, and the assembly is sealed in a gaseous atmosphere at a suitable pressure.
Abstract:
An electroluminescent display device is provided, in which a substrate of the display is comprised of character electrodes, external connecting means for facilitating connections to external apparatus and a plurality of interconnecting means between the character electrodes and external connecting means. The character electrodes, interconnecting means and external connecting means form one integral unit, with the display device itself being a monolithic structure.
