摘要: Systems and methods for encoding and decoding using syntax design for multi-symbol arithmetic coding are provided. A method includes receiving a coded video bitstream including a plurality of syntax elements; determining a first maximum alphabet size for arithmetic coding by an arithmetic coding engine, the first maximum alphabet size determined based on a hardware constraint; determining a second maximum alphabet size that is less than the first maximum alphabet size; and decoding the plurality of syntax elements included in the coded video bitstream, based on the determined second maximum alphabet size, wherein each of the plurality of syntax elements is entropy coded with an alphabet size less than or equal to the determined second maximum alphabet size.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method for video encoding including: signaling a regular merge flag for a coding unit (CU) that is coded as merge mode and merge related modes; when the regular merge flag is signaled as one, indicating that a regular merge mode or merge mode with motion vector differences (MMVD) is used by the CU, constructing a motion vector merge list for the CU and using regular merge index to indicate which candidate is used; and when the regular merge flag is signaled as zero, indicating the regular merge mode is not used by the CU, and further signaling mode flags to indicate associated merge related modes are used when a mode flag's constraints are met; and when the regular merge flag is signaled as one, determining whether a MMVD merge flag is signaled based on the value of a MMVD flag.

摘要: A length indicator associated with an encoded representation of a slice is parsed. The length indicator is indicative of a length of an extension field present in a slice header of the encoded representation. A decoder can then determine to ignore, during decoding of the encoded representation, any value of the extension field in the slice header where these values are identified based on the length indicator. As a consequence, an extension field can be added to slice headers and still enable legacy decoders to correctly decode the encoded representations.

摘要: A method for encoding a video sequence is provided that includes entropy encoding syntax elements representative of transform coefficients generated as the video sequence is processed, wherein entropy encoding syntax elements representative of a transform coefficient includes binarizing the syntax elements representative of the transform coefficient to generate a plurality of binary symbols (bins), coding a portion of the plurality of bins in context coding mode, and coding a remaining portion of the plurality of bins in bypass coding mode. The method further includes reducing the number of bins that are coded in context coding mode for each transform coefficient in a plurality of subsequent transform coefficients that are entropy encoded after a specified number of transform coefficients have been entropy encoded.

In a palette mode, if colors of pixels of a coding unit block are all represented by one or more major colors of the coding unit block, a flag is set as a first state value, and if the color of at least one pixel of the coding unit block is not represented by the one or more major colors of the coding unit block, the flag is set as a second state value. The encoding method further includes establishing a palette table corresponding to the coding unit block according to a state value of the flag and the one or more major colors.

The intra predictor includes: a weighted controller 172c configured to control the weighted combining processing dependent on positions of prediction pixels within the prediction block based on a type of transform to be applied in the orthogonal transform processing in the transformer; and a corrector 172b configured to correct the prediction pixels by performing the weighted combining processing on reference pixels adjacent to the encoding target block and the prediction pixels.

摘要: Provides is a method of image compression and decompression involving a variable-to-variable coding scheme, for example as used or of similar nature to a HT Cleanup encoding algorithm, as described in ISO/IEC 15444-15:2019. The method involves a lookup table that the encoder addresses using a potentially modified version of the EMB pattern, a potentially modified version of the significance pattern, and any additional context information, in order to find the associated variable length codeword. The modified significance pattern and modified EMB pattern, each consisting of 1 bit per sample in a quad, implicitly identify the quads original significance pattern and the quads 1-bit unsigned residual offset value, together with some or all of the quads original EMB pattern, both when the unsigned residual offset value is 1 and, for specific values of the significance pattern, when the unsigned residual offset value is 0.
