摘要: The flatness of metal strip being rolled in a hot strip mill is improved by applying higher than normal interstand tensions with maximum permissible tensions being based upon preestablished maximum allowable width reductions due to interstand tensions. The relationships between interstand tension and interstand plastic deformation are predetermined functions of strip material properties, strip temperature, and assumed tensile stress distribution across the strip width.

摘要: A method embodying this invention for controlling the deceleration of a reversing mill comprises a first step of defining a kickout distance in consideration of the bite speed at which a piece is caught by the main mill roll unit during every return roll pass of a piece-reciprocating operation and the kind of work carried out while the piece is made to rest during an interval between the respective roll passes; a second step of calculating the kickout speed to define the kickout distance; a third step of selecting that one of a plurality of piece position sensors arranged on the bite side of a main mill roll unit which takes the nearest upstream position relative to a mill deceleration-starting point in order to realize the calculated kickout speed; and a fourth step of figuring out a length of time required for the piece to move from the selected piece position sensor to the mill deceleration-starting point, thereby controlling the reversing mill so as to start the deceleration of the piece after lapse of said calculated travelling time of the piece.

摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for the stressless rolling of metals in a continuous rolling mill. In a continuous train, between any two successive mill stands, the magnitude of the rolling torque in the first mill stand is measured and stored just before the metal enters the second mill stand. The rolling torque of the first stand is maintained constant at the stored magnitude until the speed of the first stand is stabilized. Immediately after stabilization is achieved, the ratio of the speeds of the first and second mill stand is held constant until rolling is ended.

摘要: A system for incremently and continuously feeding tubes between dies during a prescribed angle of rotation of a crank assembly in a cold pilger mill. As a main motor drives the crank assembly, a servo-motor, receiving a signal from a digital control unit, which receives a signal from a pulsating encoder associated with the main drive, operates to incremently advance a carriage and shell a controlled predetermined distance between the dies. A reversal of the servo-motor returns the carriage to the initial position in preparation to advance another shell.

摘要: An apparatus for controlling the flatness of a metal sheet during rolling, which comprises two edge-rollers and a center-roller provided closely adjacent to opposite ones of the upper and the lower surfaces of a metal sheet during rolling substantially in the horizontal direction, at least at one of the entry and the exit sections of rolling mill rolls; said edge-rollers and/or said center-roller causing a change in the tension distribution of said metal sheet in the width direction, by imparting desired vertical displacement to a desired portion of said metal sheet, thereby increasing the draft at said portion of said metal sheet during rolling. An auxiliary-roller is provided, if necessary, in contact with at least one of the upper and the lower surfaces of said metal sheet over the entire width thereof, at least at one of the entry and the exit sections of said mill rolls, and at a location more distant from said mill rolls than said edge-rollers and said center-roller, with a view to effectively changing said tension distribution.
