    摘要: An example induction system for an engine includes a plenum in fluid communication with multiple primary runners. A plenum valve is arranged between first and second chambers of the plenum, which are respectively in fluid communication with first and second sets of the primary runners. The plenum valve is configured to move between open and closed positions and regulate flow between the first and second chambers. A second runner is arranged upstream from and in fluid communication with the plenum. A runner valve is arranged in the secondary runner and configured to vary the amount of flow through the secondary runner. A common actuator is interconnected to both the plenum and runner valves and is configured to move both of the plenum and runner valves between desired positions to achieve desired valve configurations that tune the engine.

    摘要: An exhaust gas recirculating valve includes a body, a closure member, a magnet, and a magneto-resistive sensor. The body defines a passage through which exhaust gas flows. The body includes a seat and the passage includes an aperture defined by the seat. The closure member is displaced between first and second configurations with respect to the seat. The first configuration sets at zero percent a percentage of exhaust gas that flows from an exhaust manifold of an internal combustion engine to an intake manifold of the internal combustion engine, and the second configuration sets at 100 percent the percentage of exhaust gas that flows from the exhaust manifold of the internal combustion engine to the intake manifold of the internal combustion engine. The magnet moves congruently with the closure member, and the magneto-resistive sensor detects the movement of the magnet so as to determine the percentage of exhaust gas flow.

The noise attenuation plate serves as a low pass filter that attenuates high frequencies while allowing lower frequencies through.

    摘要: A purge valve is in fluid communication between a fuel vapor collection canister and an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The purge valve includes a body, a seat, a head, and a solenoid. The body defines a fuel vapor flow path between a first port is in fluid communication with the fuel vapor collection canister, and a second port is in fluid communication with the intake manifold. The seat defines an aperture through which the fluid flow passes in an open configuration of the purge valve. The head includes a permanent magnet, and is attracted to the seat and occludes the aperture in a closed configuration of the purge valve. The solenoid repels the head toward the open configuration when the solenoid is energized, and the head occludes the aperture due to the magnetic attraction with the seat when the solenoid is de-energized.

This is especially useful if activated times are extended due to certain engine operating conditions.
