摘要: A vortex flow meter produces Karman's vortices in a fluid to be measured and a piezoelectric sensor develops a vortex signal therefrom which is proportional to the flow velocity of the fluid. The output signal of the sensor is applied to a charge amplifier and a low pass filter coupled thereto which functions to a predetermined signal amplitude for limiting low and high frequency noise and stabilizing the gain of the system within the vortex frequency measuring range. The output signal is converted by a logic circuit to a pulse signal of vortex frequency and then converted to a DC signal for transmission to an indicator or a receiver.

摘要: Noise signals from a relatively moving object, such as those caused by eddies in a fluid or by protrusions and recesses or gradation on the surface of paper or an iron plate, are sensed at two or more points spaced in the direction of the motion. A difference signal is then obtained from the resulting two noise signals. The relative velocity of the object is detected from the difference signal by utilizing the autocorrelation function or the frequency spectrum of the difference signal.

摘要: An electric controller system includes a comparator at the input of a processor, the processor including a program memory, an operation control unit and a data memory. A digital/analog converter is provided at the processor output. Analog/digital conversion is by means of a loop including the processor, digital/analog converter and comparator. The digital/analog output is also received by an analog signal hold means, the output of which is fed back to the comparator. A manual control circuit operable only in a manual control mode provides an alternative input to the analog signal hold means. Computations in the processor are thus based on a manual input through the hold circuit and comparator only during the manual control mode. Bumpless switching from the manual mode to an automatic mode is provided while further providing for a manual output with failure of the processor. Further embodiments include a multiplexer at the input, a plurality of hold circuits and parameter setting circuits at the input.

摘要: A redundancy system for data communications upon two duplicate communication channels, each having transmission and reception circuits, characterized by a switching circuit for selecting one of said two communication channels, a single error detection circuit for detecting an error in the signal transmitted, and a control circuit for the switching circuit arranged to cause said two communication channels to alternately transmit signals when both the channels are in normal operation, and to cause one of said two channels to be selected when the other fails. The two channels share the error detection circuit and the control circuit and can therefore be built at a reduced cost and operated efficiently. Since the two channels are regularly checked for errors, they are operated with increased reliability.

摘要: A graphic display device of the type which receives instructions from an external computer and, by successively scanning the rasters of a display matrix, displays patterns such as alphanumeric characters, symbols, etc. upon a cathode ray tube. The graphic display device has a pattern generator which stores patterns in raster form and generates signals for forming such patterns upon receipt of a pattern address signal designating the particular pattern to be formed, and a repeating raster designation signal designating the particular raster of stored pattern information to be accessed for each scan of the display matrix. Pursuant to the invention, the graphic display device comprises pattern shifting means for shifting, on demand and in an amount selected by the external computer, the display of a pattern in a direction transverse to the direction of raster scanning. The pattern shifting means comprises means for modifying the raster designation signal applied to the pattern generator to thereby relocate the individual rasters of the stored pattern within the display matrix being scanned. Pattern shifts thus may be effected without requiring the pattern generator to store additional pattern formation data.

摘要: A flow metering apparatus of the type having a vortex generating element with a generally elongate cylindrical shape placed in a stream of flowing fluid in a pipe so as to produce Karman's vortices at a rate proportional to the velocity of the flowing fluid, with ultrasonic means for detecting the rate of production of vortices to give a linearly related measure of fluid velocity. To improve the sensitivity of detection, especially at low velocities, the element is formed with a passageway transverse to the stream to produce therein an alternating fluid flow corresponding to the alternating shedding of vortices, and an ultrasonic generator and an ultrasonic receiver are positioned on opposite sides of the element so that the ultrasonic signal generated will be propagated through the passageway in the element and will be modulated by the alternating fluid flow therein. Further improvement of detection sensitivity is attained by mounting the cases housing the ultrasonic generator and receiver to the pipe carrying the flowing fluid with elastic O-rings, and with a mounting means positioned at the vibratory nodes of the cases, to reduce transmission of sounds to and from the pipe. Flow deflecting projections on the inner wall of the pipe are positioned downstream from the vortex generating element to control vortex generating conditions and improve detection.

摘要: Differential pressure transmitters used to measure fluid flow rate or liquid level in industrial processes for the purpose of controlling such processes. The transmitters include a pressureresponsive unit in the form of a twin-diaphragm capsule having two diaphragms disposed generally parallel to and spaced from each other, a spring mechanism in the shape of a stepped rod mounted between and linked to the two diaphragms at their centers, and a displacement-to-electric signal transducer for converting the displacement of the spring mechanism into an electric signal. The spring mechanism and the transducer are enclosed in a hermetically sealed chamber filled with an oil bath. The diaphragm, the spring mechanism, and the transducer are symmetrically arranged with respect to a reference plane and are mounted in a main housing. A pressure differential causes the diaphragm centers and the spring mechanism to be displaced until the reaction force equals that generated by the differential pressure. The displacement of the spring mechanism is converted into an electric output signal by the transducer.
