摘要: The present invention relates to a stable solid-state Raman laser, the solid-state Raman laser including a resonator cavity defined by at least two reflectors, a laser material located in the resonator cavity and capable of generating a cavity laser beam which propagates within the resonator cavity, a solid Raman medium located in the resonator cavity for shifting the frequency of the cavity laser beam to produce a Raman laser beam which propagates within the resonator cavity; and an output coupler for coupling and outputting the Raman laser beam from the resonator cavity, wherein at least one parameter selected from the group consisting of the position of the laser material relative to the position of the Raman medium in the cavity, the length of the cavity and the curvature of at least one of the reflectors, is selected such that changes in the focal lengths of both the laser material and the Raman medium as a result of thermal effects in the laser material and the Raman medium during operation of the laser do not substantially cause instability in the power of the output Raman laser beam. A method of maintaining stable operation of a solid state Raman laser is also described.

摘要: Recombinant nucleotide sequences encoding mutated prolactin are described. Expression of the sequences result in mimics of a phosphorylated prolactin corresponding to a selected species. A particularly preferred mimic is mutated at serine 179 (corresponding to human PRL) where serine is substituted by an aspartate residue. This aspartate mutant is a very effective antagonist and shows no ability to stimulate Nb2 to cell proliferation.

摘要: An installation for increasing the daylight yield in a stadium provided with a playing surface, stands, and optionally a covering, includes an essentially vertical light-reflecting body to guide the light incident on the body towards the playing surface in the stadium. Preferably the reflecting body is arranged along the free peripheral edge of the covering of the stadium. In one embodiment the reflecting body includes a multi-layer construction of two corrugated sheets with a light-reflecting foil between them. The installation can increase the light yield in a covered stadium by between 30% and 50%.

摘要: An automated laser diode testing and burn-in system is disclosed. Initial device data is obtained by applying current to the device at room temperature and measuring the device parameters. The device is then subjected to a burn-in process at higher temperatures. Device performance is monitored throughout the burn-in process. Upon termination of the burn-in process the devices are cooled to room temperature and the post burn-in device power is measured again under the same test conditions. If the device parameters have changed by more than a particular amount the device is rejected. Otherwise, the device is accepted and installed in the next level assembly. The test system disclosed herein achieves significant advantages over prior art in cost and throughput by combining an easy to load laser test fixture with automatic device hold down feature, heating capability, computer program driven test protocol capable of performing initial laser measurements, calibrating each laser and photodetector pair, burn-in test, post burn-in measurements, failed device detection, storage of laser test history records and enabling remote access to such records. The invention eliminates the need for numerous labor intensive ergonomically difficult steps and costly test fixtures.

摘要: Non-oligomerizing fluorescent proteins, which are formed by operatively linking two or more monomers of a fluorescent protein, or which are derived from a fluorescent protein having at least one mutation that reduces or eliminates the ability of the fluorescent protein to oligomerize, are provided. The non-oligomerizing fluorescent proteins can be derived from a naturally occurring green fluorescent protein, a red fluorescent protein, or other fluorescent protein, or a fluorescent protein related thereto. Also provided is a fusion protein, which includes a non-oligomerizing fluorescent protein linked to at least one polypeptide of interest. In addition, a polynucleotide encoding a non-oligomerizing fluorescent protein is provided, as is a recombinant nucleic acid molecule, which includes polynucleotide encoding a non-oligomerizing fluorescent protein operatively linked to at least a second polynucleotide. Vectors and host cells containing such polynucleotides also are provided, as are kits containing one or more non-oligomerizing fluorescent proteins or encoding polynucleotides or constructs derived therefrom. Further provided are methods of making and using the proteins and polynucleotides.

摘要: A method and system for managing sales data. One embodiment is a software application that assists in classification, review and approval of data to be stored in a database for the use of a product supplier or seller. In one embodiment, a method includes storing a plurality of data components as groups of data components in a database, wherein the plurality of data components comprises information relating to products, and information relating to customers. The method further includes assigning a subset of the plurality of users to a content review group (“CRG”), and notifying each user in the CRG to provide input regarding individual data components of a group of data components. Input may include indicating whether data components are accurate, entering comments regarding the data components, entering edits to the data components. The method further includes receiving and storing the input, notifying a content director (“CD”) to review the input. Review may include editing the comments entered, deleting the comments entered, and consolidating the input. At least one of the data components is staged to be stored in a central database, based upon the review.
