    摘要: Pneumatic devices for implementing finite state machines are provided. In some implementations, the pneumatic device comprises a state register component configured to hold one of a set of possible states. The pneumatic device also comprises a next-state logic block component configured to determine a next state for the state register component based at least in part on a current state of the state register component. A pneumatic programmable logic array (PLA) implementing a next state logic block of a finite state machine is also provided. The pneumatic PLA comprises an elastomeric membrane containing a pattern of holes and disposed between two channel layers of a pneumatic device. The PLA receives one or more input values representing a current state of a state register and one or more input values representing a user input and calculates one or more output values representing a next state for the state register.

    摘要: Triazabutadiene molecules as cleavable cross-linkers adapted to cross-link components with click chemistry, e.g., clickable triazabutadienes. For example, in some embodiments, the triazabutadienes feature alkyne handles attached to the imidazole portion or the aryl portion of the triazabutadienes, wherein the alkyne handles can link to azide handles (e.g., azide handles disposed on other components) via click chemistry. Also described are methods of producing said clickable triazabutadienes and methods of use of said clickable triazabutadienes. The present invention also features methods of cleaving said clickable triazabutadienes, e.g., for liberating the diazonium species for further chemical reactions.

    摘要: Microfluidic methods and systems for detecting levels of microorganisms via Mie forward light scattering. The systems and methods of the present invention can be customized so as to optionally maximize scatter from the particle immunoagglutination and minimize that of the sample matrix, e.g., via selection of parameters particle diameter d, wavelength of incident λ, and/or scatter angle θ. Methods feature providing beads conjugated with an antibody specific for the microorganism, mixing beads with a sample to form a first mixture; providing a control mixture; irradiating the mixtures with incident light; detecting forward light scattering scattered by the first mixture at a first angle with respect to the incident light and forward scattered light scattered by the control the same first angle with respect to the incident light; determining I and I0 from the light scattering; comparing I with I0; and determining a level of the microorganism.

    摘要: An epicyclic gear system features a cylindrical flywheel with a cylindrical flywheel cavity, a plurality of cylindrical mounting pillars, an annular ring gear mounted on the cylindrical mounting pillars, and an annular sun gear mounted to and extending from the flywheel cavity. The epicyclic gear system features a planet carrier mounted to an axle shaft and a planet gear mounted to the planet carrier. The axle shaft passes through an axle aperture, a ring gear aperture, and a sun gear aperture. The planet gear engages the ring gear and the sun gear to provide a desired gear ratio for rotating the flywheel via rotation of the axle shaft, the planet carrier, the planet gear, and the sun gear.
