A light source unit provides enhanced control of a colour shift of white light reflected by a retro-reflector. The light source unit includes a pump light source, which emits laser pump light, a phosphor, which converts the laser pump light into white light, a retro-reflector, which has an output aperture that allows emission of part of the white light, the retro-reflector reflecting another part of the white light back to the phosphor, and scattering particles, which are adjusted to increase a blue light ratio of the white light.

An organic EL display device including a plurality of pixels includes an element substrate including a substrate, and a plurality of organic EL elements supported by the substrate and respectively located in the plurality of pixels; and a thin film encapsulation structure covering the plurality of pixels. The thin film encapsulation structure includes a first inorganic barrier layer, an organic barrier layer in contact with a top surface of the first inorganic barrier layer, the organic barrier layer including a plurality of solid portions distributed discretely, and a second inorganic barrier layer in contact with the top surface of the first inorganic barrier layer and top surfaces of the plurality of solid portions of the organic barrier layer. The organic barrier layer is black.

A vaporizer for delivery of a volatile medium to a gas flow, the vaporizer comprising: a gas delivery unit (3) which receives a flow of gas and provides a flow of gas containing a metered amount of a vaporized medium; a reservoir unit (5) which contains a volatile medium and maintains a supply of the vaporized medium, wherein the reservoir unit is selectively fluidly connected to the gas delivery unit; a gas sensing unit (7) for sensing a flow rate and/or composition of the gas flow; a vaporized medium sensing unit (9) for sensing a flow rate of the vaporized medium; a manifold (10) which includes flow paths for the vaporized medium and fluidly connects the reservoir unit and the vaporized medium sensing unit; and a control unit (11) for controlling a flow rate of the gas flow and an amount of the vaporized medium which is metered into the gas flow.

The living activity inference device according to the present invention includes: an obtainer configured to obtain an energy consumption of an electric appliance; an appliance operation detector configured to identify an operational state of the electric appliance based on the energy consumption obtained by the obtainer; and an activity inferrer configured to perform an inference process of determining which one of a plurality of living activities predetermined a current living activity corresponds to, based on existing information including the operational state of the electric appliance identified by the appliance operation detector and a past living activity.
Abstract:
A low-power voice command detection method uses an audio monitoring device to capture sound. The captured sound is analyzed in steps to determine if it fulfills a number of criteria regarding sound level, voice content and identifiable voice commands. For each step the processing is more complex and power demanding. A threshold between the first and subsequent steps is used to gate further processing. This threshold is dynamically adjusted, based on the outcome of the analysis, to avoid unnecessary processing and increase system performance.

A cell preparation containing mesenchymal stem cells whose immunosuppression ability is maintained is produced by means of a serum-free or low-serum culture. A method for producing a cell preparation containing mesenchymal stem cells, comprising the steps of: (A) proliferating mesenchymal stem cells in a serum-free medium “A” containing an FGF, a PDGF, a TGF-β, an HGF, an EGF, at least one phospholipid, and at least one fatty acid; and (B) screening mesenchymal stem cells whose immunosuppression ability is maintained or improved, from the mesenchymal stem cells thus proliferated in the step (A).
