For example, the method encompasses treating disease with: 5-amino-3-(2′-O-acetyl-3′-deoxy-β-D-ribofuranosyl)-3H-thiazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidin-2-one Tosylate according to a dosing schedule of every-other-day or a dosing schedule of three consecutive days of dosing followed by four consecutive days of not dosing.

    摘要: A passive personal vocal monitor is described for enhancing the sound of a singer's voice to the singer during a performance. The monitor has an earpiece with a nipple configured to be disposed snuggly within the singer's ear and having an internal channel terminating in an open end adjacent the singer's eardrum. A tubular acoustic waveguide extends from the earpiece to an open end that is positionable adjacent the singer's mouth when the nipple is in the singer's ear. A canal in the earpiece couples the tubular waveguide to the channel of the nipple so that sounds of the singer's voice are conveyed along the waveguide and to the user's eardrum during a singing performance. An adjustable ambient sound inlet is provided on the earpiece so that a singer may admit a desired amount of ambient sound to be mixed with his voice as he sings.

    摘要: The disclosure provides methods for treating diabetes by promoting graft survival and improved graft function in a patient receiving an islet transplant by treating the patient with a GLP-1 receptor agonist compound prior to the islet transplant. The methods may also comprise treating the islets with a GLP-1 receptor agonist compound prior to transplanting them in a patient. The methods may eliminate the need for immunosuppressive therapy in islet transplants. Any GLP-1 receptor agonist compound know in the art can be used in the methods described herein.

    摘要: Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for reducing the growth of hematopoietic malignant cells (e.g., B-cell leukemia cells). The methods involve reducing the growth of hematopoietic malignant cells by contacting hematopoietic malignant cells with GP88 antagonists. GP88 is an 88 KDa autocrine growth factor that promotes the growth of hematopoietic malignant cells. Antagonists to GP88 are provided which inhibit its expression or biological activity. The antagonists include antisense oligonucleotides and antibodies. Also provided are methods for determining if a patient is responding or is responsive to anti-cancer therapy (e.g., glucocorticoid therapy). Increased levels of GP88 in hematopoietic cells indicates a patient is not responding or responsive to anti-cancer therapy.

These transporters provide a novel system for the transportation of sugars across membranes within a cell and between the inside and outside of a cell. Such transporters are useful for understanding and altering the sugar concentration within certain organs of an organism, and within certain organelles within the cell. These transporters are also useful in protecting plants from a pathogen attack.
