Abstract: Apparatus for conducting research on adsorption properties of particulate solid adsorption materials for an adsorbate in at least two parallel adsorption beds, and method of using such. The apparatus contains multiple parallel beds of adsorbent, of a comparatively small volume between 0.1 to 10 ml, which are connected to two feeds via a splitter for each feed and capillaries downstream of the splitter and upstream of the adsorption bed. Abstract: A process for estimating catalyst performance of catalyst used in refinery reforming processes for converting naphtha to gasoline. More in particular, the catalyst to be investigated is subjected to analysis in parallel over time at a temperature to achieve a desired RON on yield of e.g. C5+, for at least two different reaction times. The reactions are terminated after which coke deposition is determined, and relationships of coke deposition and yield, both as a function of reaction temperature for the catalyst used are established, thereby enabling comparison of catalyst performance as determined by a yield-temperature relationship at a given coke deposition degree.

Abstract: A system for pressurising parallel batch reactors, and a process for using such to pressurize batch reactors to a pressure of between 20 and 150 barg. The reactors are closed by a removable reactor closure system for covering the mouth of such reactor, wherein the closure system comprises an elastomeric septum and a rigid member with a small hole covering the septum. The septum may be pierced with a specific hollow needle, e.g. to force pressurized gas in the reactor, which pressure can be maintained for prolonged periods after withdrawing the needle. The closure system does not require moving parts.
