    摘要: Organic light emitting diode (OLED) light source includes a plurality of stacked organic light emitting diode units comprised of a removable topmost organic light emitting diode unit and one or more removable underlying organic light emitting diode units. A power source is in electrical communication with the anode and the cathode of the topmost organic light emitting diode unit, wherein the underlying organic light emitting diode units are free from contact with the power source. As such, each OLED is sequentially operated upon removal of the topmost OLED unit, thereby providing redundancy as well as extending the operating lifetime of the OLED light source. Also disclosed are processes for operating the OLED light source.

    摘要: An encapsulated optoelectronic device includes: a first barrier layer; an electroluminescence device coupled to the first barrier layer, and comprising a substrate and an electroluminescence element both defining a lateral side, and the electroluminescence element comprising a first electrode disposed on the substrate, a second electrode, and an optoelectronically active layer between the first and second electrodes; a second barrier layer coupled to the electroluminescence device; and an adhesive located between and connecting the first and second barrier layers, and at least coupled to the lateral side of the electroluminescence device to seal the electroluminescence device; a first conductive area electrically coupled to the first electrode and electrically insulated from the second electrode and a second conductive area; the second conductive area electrically coupled to the second electrode and electrically insulated from the first electrode and the first conductive area. A method for making the encapsulated optoelectronic device is presented.

    摘要: A method of processing a multilayer film is provided. The method includes providing a substrate film having a substrate film first surface and a substrate film second surface. The method also includes providing a barrier layer adjacent to the substrate film second surface. The barrier layer has at least one opening allowing fluid communication between the substrate film and an outer surface of the barrier layer. Further, the method includes contacting the substrate film first surface with a first reactant and finally contacting the outer surface of the barrier layer with a second reactant, said second reactant being reactive with said first reactant. The method of contacting the substrate film first surface to the first reactant and contacting the outer surface of the barrier layer to the second reactant is carried out under conditions under which reaction between said first reactant and the second reactant results in a formation of a reaction layer.
