    摘要: Cationic polyvinyl acetals are prepared by copolymerizing one or more cationic N-alkyldiallylammonium salt monomers with one or more vinyl esters of branched or unbranched carboxylic acids having 1 to 15 carbon atoms, hydrolyzing the resulting copolymers to copolymers containing ≧50 mol % vinyl alcohol units, and acetalizating the vinyl alcohol units with one or more aliphatic aldehydes having 1 to 15 carbon atoms, their acetals, and/or hemiacetals, wherein the copolymerization takes place in a mixture of water and monovalent aliphatic alcohol having a water content of 2% to 35% by weight.

    摘要: A process for manufacturing cellulose fibers or yarns with a reduced tendency to form fibrils includes treating fibers or yarns, which are washed after the filament forming process but not yet dried, with a cross-linking agent. The process includes treating the fibers or yarns with reactive polysiloxanes which are modified with amino, polyalkylene oxide, epoxy or carboxyl functional groups and which cross-link with themselves. The process is particularly suitable for fibers produced according to the NMMO process.

    摘要: The invention provides a process for preparing aqueous polymer dispersions having a high solids content of more than 60% by polymerizing one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers by means of free-radically initiated aqueous emulsion polymerization in the presence of from 0.1 to 5.0% by weight of emulsifier, based on the overall weight of the monomers, and in the presence of initiator, wherein the emulsifier in an amount of from 0.001 to 0.5% by weight, based on the overall weight of the water in the initial charge, is included in the initial charge together with a fraction of from 1 to 10% by weight of the monomers, based on the overall weight of the monomers, before the beginning of polymerization, and the remainder of emulsifier and the remainder of monomers are metered in after the beginning of polymerization.
