摘要: A method for operating a control valve using an HVAC actuator is described, the method comprises a circuit of the HVAC actuator executing the steps of: monitoring (S1) a rotation angle (ϕ) associated with a drive torque (Mdrive) applied by the HVAC actuator for moving the valve member; detecting (S2) a blocking of the control valve, if the applied drive torque (Mdrive) effects a change of the rotation angle (Δϕ) which is smaller than a threshold angle (ϕth); upon detection of the blocking, controlling the HVAC actuator to repeatedly change the applied drive torque (Mdrive) between a first torque value (M1) and a second torque value (M2); and controlling the HVAC actuator to periodically modulate (S4) the first torque value (M1) between a third torque value and a fourth torque.

摘要: A hydronic distribution system includes self-regulating valves networked together and operable to share valve temperature and valve position information with a microprocessor or other type of controller. The microprocessor runs one or more algorithms that process the temperatures and positions of the valves and then computes a desired speed for one or more variable speed pumps within the system. Controlling the pumps to operate at the desired speed and still maintain the correct amount of process fluid flow needed by the system reduces the overall energy use of the hydronic distribution system, saves on the operational lives of the pumps, and increases system efficiency.

摘要: An air handler unit (AHU) in communication with a building automation system (BAS) or through direct programming of one or more smart valves within the AHU operates to meter an amount of water that flows through a coil in the AHU. In one embodiment, the BAS transmits a temperature setpoint signal to the smart valve and allows the smart valve to control its valve position without additional input from the BAS. In another embodiment, the AHU includes a master smart valve and a second valve. The BAS provides the temperature setpoint signal to the master smart valve, which in turn provides another temperature setpoint signal to the second valve. The second valve may take the form of a slave smart valve or a slave non-smart valve.

Low valve noise is achieved because of the shape, size and configuration of the inlet and outlet openings of the passage channel and the configuration of walls of the passage channel without steps and edges.
