Abstract:
A method of making ceramic articles includes compounding ceramic precursor batch components that include hydrous clay. The hydrous clay includes particle components having a platy geometry. The crystallite size of the platy hydrous clay particle components is greater than a predetermined amount. Controlling such crystallite size can result in reduced shrinkage of green ware during the clay dehydroxylation stage of firing.

Abstract:
A rotary mower includes a rotary cutting disk, at least one knife, at least one knife pin, and a spring plate. The rotary cutting disk has at least one knife mount location. Each knife has an end with an opening therein. Each knife opening has a double keyhole shape with a larger center hole and two smaller partial holes respectively on generally opposite sides of the center hole. Each knife pin extends through a corresponding knife opening and is mounted to the rotary cutting disk at a corresponding knife mount location. Each knife pin has a distal keeper with a double keyhole shape which generally approximates and is slightly smaller than the double keyhole shaped opening in each knife. A spring plate is positioned under the cutting disk adjacent to each distal keeper of each knife pin.
Abstract:
Comminuted pre-mixtures for technical ceramics production, and ceramic bodies made therefrom, the comminuted pre-mixtures being comprised of cellulosic components and alumina source components and the bodies being produced by compounding the comminuted pre-mixtures with powdered inorganic components into batch mixtures, adding liquids to the batch mixtures to form plastic batches, forming the plastic batches into shaped bodies, and heating the shaped bodies to form the ceramic bodies.

A method of making ceramic articles includes compounding ceramic precursor batch components that include hydrous clay. The hydrous clay includes particle components having a platy geometry. The crystallite size of the platy hydrous clay particle components is less than a predetermined amount. Controlling such crystallite size can result in fired ceramic articles with a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and improved thermal shock resistance.
Abstract:
A toy vehicle includes a vehicle body configured for moving along a support surface when disposed in a first orientation. A platform is rotatably coupled to an underside of the vehicle body, and a lever is pivotally coupled to the platform. The lever is movable between a first position disengaged from the support surface and a second position engageable with the support surface when the vehicle is disposed in its first orientation. The lever causes the vehicle to be overturned from its first orientation when the lever is moved from its first position to its second position.

Abstract:
A rotary mowing implement including a rotary cutter bar disk, at least one hub, a blade element, a pin, and a pin retaining mechanism. The at least one hub is connected to the rotary cutter bar disk. The blade element has a hole therein. The pin couples the blade element to the hub. The pin is insertable through the hole and is removably coupled to the hub. The pin retaining mechanism couples the pin to the hub.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment a solid oxide fuel cell device incorporates a seal resistant to hydrogen gas permeation at a in the range of 600° C. to 9000 C, the seal having a CTE in the 100×10−7/° C. to 120×10−7/° C., wherein the seal includes a sealing material that comprises in weight %, of: (i) 80 to 100 wt % of glass frit, wherein the glass frit includes in mole % MgO, 0-10% CaO, 0-30% BaO, 30-50% B2O3, 0-40% Al2O3, 10-30% SiO2, 10-30%; and (ii) a filler, 0 wt % to 20 wt %.
Abstract:
The present invention provides unique and advantageous methods for selecting the negative control value to be used as a correction to the results obtained when measuring the reaction of a complex biological mixture in a multi-analyte assay. The methods of the subject invention are particularly advantageous because the negative control value(s) is/are generated using the same sample that is also being analyzed for the presence of the analytes of interest.
