    摘要: Signals propagating on an aggressor communication channel can cause detrimental interference in a victim communication channel. A signal processing circuit can generate an interference cancellation signal that, when applied to the victim communication channel, cancels the detrimental interference. The signal processing circuit can dynamically adjust or update two or more aspects of the interference cancellation signal, such as an amplitude or gain parameter and a phase or delay parameter. Via the dynamic adjustments, the signal processing circuit can adapt to changing conditions, thereby maintaining an acceptable level of interference cancellation in a fluctuating operating environment. A control circuit that implements the parametric adjustments can have at least two modes of operation, one for adjusting the amplitude parameter and one for adjusting the phase parameter. The modes can be selectable or can be intermittently available, for example.

Thus, an emulation circuit can produce a representation of a real-world signal transformation by processing the signal according to one or more signal processing parameters that are characteristic of the real-world signal transformation. The emulation circuit can apply analog signal processing and/or mixed signal processing to the signal. The signal processing can comprise feeding the signal through two signal paths, each having a different delay, and creating a weighted sum of the outputs of the two signal paths. The signal processing can also (or alternatively) comprise routing the signal through a network of delay elements, wherein a bank of switching or routing elements determines the route and thus the resulting delay.

    摘要: Apparatus for engaging and holding a non-oriented hot glass container of predetermined square cross sectional contour and closed end that includes a chuck having an open end for receiving the container and an internal valve plate for abutment with the end of the container received in the chuck. The chuck is coupled to a cam-operated arm for lowering the chuck over a container. A transition plate has a square opening contoured to be closely received over the square cross section of the container, and is mounted for free rotation adjacent to the open end of the chuck. Guide fingers project from the plate away from the open end of the chuck so as to engage the container end as the chuck is lowered over the container, and to rotate the plate relative to the chuck so that the plate opening is aligned with the square cross section of the container end. A vacuum is applied to the valve plate within the chuck for holding the container end against the valve plate. Close fit between the transition plate opening and the square cross section of the container restricts flow of air through the opening past the container, and thereby improves the ability to retain and hold the container within the chuck.

    摘要: For measuring characteristics (resistance, capacitance, and foreign voltage) on a telephone line, source voltages are coupled via source resistances to the line in three test conditions and the parameters are calculated from steady state voltages at the terminals of the line. Each steady state voltage is predictively calculated from nine samples of the voltage at the terminal using a closed form second order solution of a circuit model of the telephone line derived from a transformation of the circuit model into the Z domain and using the matched pole-zero technique. The steady state voltages can thus be determined without waiting for transients, due to the time constants of the telephone line, to die out, resulting in much faster measurements for telephone lines with large time constants.
